Game On! policies and FAQs
Race entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
We understand that injuries, illness, pregnancy, work, and family issues happen. However, race costs are committed well before race day (shirts, medals, permits, supplies, etc.), so refunds are not available. Deferral options are listed below.
Yes. Any participant may defer one time to the following year for any reason.
- request must be submitted at least 7 days before race day
- must be done from your RunSignUp profile
- $25 deferral fee applies
if the event is unavailable next year, credit will be issued (minus $25 fee)
Log in to RunSignUp and go to: Profile → Upcoming Events → Manage Registration → Defer Registration Depending on the page theme, the defer button may appear at the top or left side of the page
Yes.
- Upgrade: pay the difference in registration fees
- Downgrade: allowed, but no refunds for fee difference
- Must be within the same event weekend
We prefer changes are done online before race day.
On race morning, please see a race manager — not a volunteer — during late packet pickup.
No. Person-to-person transfers are not allowed for any reason.
Allowing someone else to race under your name:
- violates USAT rules
- may result in suspension
- may expose you to legal liability if the other person is injured
All events are rain or shine.
Your safety is our top priority. In severe weather (lightning, unsafe water, etc.):
- start may be delayed 30–45 minutes
- course may be changed
- format may be modified (example: duathlon)
- event may be canceled if conditions are unsafe
Athletes should still plan to arrive and be prepared to race.
In the event of severe weather, poor water quality, road closures, or other safety issues, organizers may:
- delay the start
- change the course
- change the format
- cancel the event if necessary
If the event occurs in any modified format, registrations remain non-refundable.
EVENT CANCELLATION ON RACE MORNING
If the event is canceled due to circumstances beyond our control (“Act of God”):
- athletes will receive a 25% credit based on the fee paid
- credit is valid for one year from event date
- credit must be used by the same registered athlete
We will notify athletes by:
- email to registered participants
- updates on the Game On! Race Events Facebook page
You do not need a Facebook account to view updates.
Yes — all triathlons are USA Triathlon sanctioned events.
- USAT annual or one-day membership is required
- racing age is based on your age on December 31 of the race year
- penalties apply for rule violations
- Allowed ≤ 78°F
- Allowed but NOT award-eligible between 78–84°F
- Not allowed ≥ 84°F
- maximum thickness 5 mm
- water temperature is measured race morning only
Awards are 3 deep (male & female) in:
- Overall
- Age Groups (15 & Under through 80+)
- Para
- Athena
- Clydesdale
- Relay Teams (Male, Female, Co-ed)
Masters awards are first place only (age 40+).
There is no double dipping between Overall/Masters and Age Group.
Aquabike awards are Overall + Age Group 3 deep.
Yes, T-shirts will be handed out during packet pick up and every finisher receives a custom finisher medal at the finish line.
Arrive at least 1 hour before the first wave starts.
Transition opens at 5:30 a.m.
Transition closes 10 minutes before the first race starts for all athletes. No late entry for safety reasons.
Yes, helmets are required.
Yes, athletes must provide their own bike for the race. Bike rentals will be available at local bike shops
No. Headphones and earbuds are not allowed. They are prohibited as per USA Triathlon rules.

Yes — same-day registration is available, but: it must still be completed online race-day pricing is higher Register early to save money and time.
Yes. Another person may pick up your packet. They must show: a photo of your ID (text image is fine), or a printed copy of your ID
