Reviews & Feedback

The Hayden Triathlon values athlete input as crucial for it's continuing growth and success.

Every year, we add and revise multiple details based on post-race observations.  Most recently for 2026, (a) increasing our athlete capacity from 350 in 2025 to 400 in 2026, and adding a significant number of bike racks to our transition area so we average 6-7 bikes per rack when sold out, and (b) increasing bike course signage.

What are participant's saying about the Hayden Triathlon?

"I've done quite a few sprint tris. This was one of the best run ones I have seen... your operations were excellent, your volunteers unequaled. I am very impressed."

"I thought this was one of the best well run local races and I have raced a lot in multiple states for over 25+ years."

"My daughter is training for an Iron Man and invited me to do this event with her as part of her training. I came from Alaska to do it with her & we made some great memories together!"

"I completed this event for the first time at age 60 and challenged myself to do it this year when I turned 70.  I am really glad I did!"

"Since having kids, I've been looking for a new hobby and a fun way to get back into fitness, and I look forward to this becoming something I can do with my kids as they get older."

"I took a break from doing triathlons for many years, then… I found myself living a much more sedentary lifestyle. I gained weight, fell into a funk and was talking to my neighbor one day about our favorite races. He told me that the Hayden triathlon was his favorite race ever. I decided at that moment that I was going to train and do this event. I am so glad that I did!! I trained and had a fantastic race. Beautiful course, the best volunteers and kindness all along the way with fellow athletes. I can’t wait to do it again next year! "

"Hayden was my first triathlon 11 years ago. I wore a one-piece bathing suit and borrowed a friend’s bike the night before.  This year I was 2nd in my age group."

"We are not real triathletes at all and didn’t really train and we still had an awesome time!"

"I learned how to swim so I could compete!"
