Run Like a Mother 5K | Hometown Happenings

Join us for the Run Like a Mother 5K/2K on Sunday, May 10th, 8 am, Lake Co. Fairgrounds, Crown Point, IN. 

Event Includes:

Timeline:

6:30 – 7:30 am – Sign-In/Registration.  Best 80’s Themed Costumes invites handed out.
7:25 - “Bodacious Betty” Mom Award.
7:30 – 7:45 am – Michael Jackson Dance Party to “Thriller” before the race.
7:45 am  – National Anthem & Flag Presentation
7:50 am – “Richard Simmons” pre-race warmup with Basecamp Fitness.
8:00 am – 5K/2K starts.  Walkout song is “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun”
** After race, grab your adult drink.
8:40 am – 8:50 am - 80’s Karaoke Sing-A-Long

8:50 am – First 5K Awards
9:00 am -- Awards Presentation:

• “Best Individual Costume”- Individual winners receive gift cards that can be used to purchase at the Market: 1st Place = $50.  2nd Place = $25.  3rd Place = $15.

COST:  5K: $30 Adults.  Non-timed 2K & Kids 3-12: $25.  Under 3 is free.  Shirts extra $16 thru April 27th & not included in entry. Strollers welcome.

2 EARLY Packet Pickups - Pick up for others of have others pick up for you.

• Thursday,  May 7th, 5 - 6:30 pm, Fleet Feet Schererville.  Pick up early and enjoy some surprise store sales!  

• Friday, May 8th, 5-6 pm, First United Methodist, 352 S. Main in Crown Point.

The COURSE:  Map will be posted here.  The course will follows the Flying Turkey course from last November - flat with less congestion!  2K will be twice around the Lake.  

Suggested Time Limit:  1 hour (19 min pace) for the 5K.  This helps us to not tie up the roads for too long. If your pace is slower than 19 minutes, please consider moving to the 2K option.

RACE AWARDS:  Top Overall, Top Master (40+), Clydesdale (Men 210+ lbs), Athena (Women 170+ lbs), Top Three finishers in each age group.  Age divisions: 0-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-18, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+

RRCA State Championship Race Awards:  In addition to the awards above, special medals will be given for Overall Male & Female, 40+ male and female, 50+ male and female, 60+ male and female.  This means that the first male & female that finishes & qualifies for the category will receive that medal.  But, they will also be ineligible for another category.  For example, a 60 year old male who wins the race overall would receive the Overall Male award but NOT qualify for the 40+, 50+ or 60+ awards.

Please note:  No refunds will be given due to weather or for any other reason.  You also cannot transfer your registration after May 1st.  If you do not pick up your shirt at the event, unclaimed shirts will be sold after the run.   If you have any questions, please contact Tim@yourhometownevents.com
