Time to start planning for May 7-16, 2021!

We are excited for the 2021 Gold Nugget Triathlon and hope you are too!

We really missed all of the GNT racers, partners, volunteers and community last year and hope to see many of you this year (in person or virtually). We have put together something for everyone. Check it out, see what works for you, and get ready to get your GNT spirit on!

While we wish we could return back to the traditional GNT race format, we expect that COVID-19 will still be impacting large events like the GNT. In all of our planning we are committed to the GNT mission of improving the lives of women and girls through athletics and maintaining a fun and safe environment for all involved.

With the above in mind, we are offering a revised race format with several options for racers to choose from.  The goal is to offer racers options that fit their needs and comfort level while using event formats that will allow us to manage COVID-19 requirements and maintain a safe and healthy event. At the same time, we are leaving space for the flexibility to adapt if circumstances around the pandemic change.

   *Racers who deferred their 2020 GNT registration to 2021 will have the first priority for registration as noted in the registration dates.

  • Live Timed Swim: 500 yards
  • Virtual Bike - on own: 12 miles
  • Live In-person Run on May 15: 3.1 miles

• Virtual Triathlon – Unlimited
  • ALL 3 events virtual May 7 – 16
    • Swim: 500 yards
    • Bike: 12 miles
    • Run: 3.1 miles
      
      
• Virtual Duathlon – Unlimited
  o   ALL 3 events virtual May 7 – 16
  • Run: 1.2 miles
  • Bike: 12 miles
  • Run: 3.1 miles
    
    
• Live - In-Person Event: Limited to 400 participants
  • ALL events live and in-person on May 16 at Chugiak High School
    • Swim: 300 yards snake swim
    • Bike: 9 miles (same course as Bike For Women)
    • Run: 3.1 miles (same course as Eagle River Tri)
