The Open Door 2,400-Mile Challenge, by F3 Greater LAX
Place
San Bernardino, CA US 92404
Description
Hey, everyone! Please join F3 Inland Empire for our first-ever week-long, virtual, activity challenge! We're aiming to log a whopping 2,400 miles together as a group. It's all for a great cause—raising awareness about the serious issue of human trafficking right here in our community.
Throughout the week of October 5-11, all participants will track their own miles wherever you want to log them. Whether you're walking, running, cycling, or doing your favorite activity, every mile counts towards our goal!
Not only are we spreading awareness, but we're also fundraising for The Open Door, a nonprofit in San Bernardino who's mission it is to provide immediate health and well-being for their participants.
ABOUT THE OPEN DOOR - https://familyassist.org/programs/the-open-door/
Since 1985, Family Assistance Program, has been providing shelter and advocacy services to victims of domestic violence. Through the years, the agency has grown. We now operate shelters, transitional housing, and offices throughout San Bernardino County.
As community needs have been identified, the agency has grown to fill gaps in services. For example, since 2012, we have opened two new shelters, two new transitional housing programs, a youth drop-in center and an anti-human trafficking program: The Open Door.
Due to the growing number of commercially sexually exploited children and adults Family Assistance Program has created The Open Door Program to provide mentorship, advocacy and support to victims and survivors of sexual exploitation.
Our unique trauma informed program is led by empowerment advocates who are survivors of sexual exploitation themselves. Each person that enters our program is treated with respect, dignity and the opportunity to grow and flourish. We meet each person where they are at, not where we think they should be. We also know that these individuals are victims and not criminals.
ABOUT F3 NATION - https://f3nation.com/
F3 is a national network of free, peer-led workouts for men. Our mission is to plant, grow and serve small workout groups for men for the invigoration of male community leadership. Started in 2011 in Charlotte, North Carolina, F3 is now in 48 states, on 5 continents, with more than 4,205 scheduled workouts a week through the volunteer efforts of men whose lives have been changed by their involvement with the group.
The three Fs in our name stand for Fitness, Fellowship and Faith — the last of which we define as not one specific religion or faith system, but simply a belief in something outside oneself.
Our workouts …
Are free of charge
Are open to all men
Are held outdoors, rain or shine, heat or cold
Are led by men who participate in the workout in a rotating fashion, with no training or certification necessary
End with a Circle of Trust
We welcome men of all fitness levels to our workouts and have no requirement for membership other than that you show up at the appointed time and place and follow what the workout leader (the “Q” in F3 lingo) does.
The F3 Credo is: Leave no man behind, but leave no man where you find him.
