Description

Mile High Mile presented by Sarah Vaughan at LIV Sotheby’s

Saturday, May 23 | Boulder High School

The Mile High Mile is back for its 8th season—bringing a high-energy night of racing to Boulder for runners of all ages and abilities.

This year, we’re introducing a new format designed to make the event more accessible, more flexible, and more fun—whether you're chasing a PR or just showing up to run a mile with your crew.

Two Ways to Race

1. Community Miles (Chip-Timed) – All Afternoon

We’re opening the track to everyone.

  • Open to all ages and abilities, including youth runners (14 & under)
  • Chip-timed results with instant finish times
  • Printed finisher certificates to take home
  • Rolling wave starts every ~15 minutes
  • Miss your start? No problem—just jump into the next wave

This is your chance to experience the energy of the Mile High Mile in a low-pressure, high-fun environment.

2. Competitive Heats (FAT-Timed) – Late Evening

As the sun sets, the racing heats up.

  • Fully Automatic Timing (FAT) for official results
  • Seeded heats based on pace, including:High school races
  • Open and sub-elite sections
  • Elite Women’s & Men’s races to close out the night
  • Athlete introductions and a true track meet atmosphere
  • Yes—you can break the tape

Why You Should Be There

  • A uniquely inclusive + competitive track event
  • Designed for first-timers, families, and serious racers alike
  • A chance to race under the lights and stay for the fastest mile racing in Colorado
  • Community energy early → electric racing atmosphere late
