Eleonore Rocks 2017 Virtual 5K Run & Walk

This virtual event correlates with our 5K Run & Walk on 4/29/17 in Willard, OH, though results from the virtual race are separate from the physical event.  Participants can sign up and run or walk the virtual 5K anywhere, any time in the month of May!  We do not require participants to post proof of completing the 5K, but we very much encourage you to do so at the event Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/ERocksVirtual , or by submitting your finishing time through our contact form at http://www.erocks5k.com/contact.html .  Overall results will be tabulated for all participants who submit their finishing times, but ALL who register for the race will receive one of our fully custom rocking chair medals in the mail.  The cost to register is $25, which includes shipping charges.

If you would like an official shirt from our 5K in Willard, you may add a shirt onto your registration for an additional $7, while supplies last.  Medals will be shipped out the first week of June.

Nearly 100% of proceeds from this event will be donated directly to the Eleonore Rocks Foundation.  As a grassroots charity consisting solely of volunteers, we have very little to no overhead, allowing received funds to directly support our mission.  We strive to have a positive impact on the lives of sick children and their families, with primary efforts focused on the donation of high quality rocking chairs to NICU's in hospitals throughout the country. We have donated over 600 rocking chairs since established in 2009!  Some recent donations include 80 chairs to the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago, 45 chairs to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, 16 to The Ohio State University Medical Center, and 36 to Duke University hospital.  We have also supported St. Jude's hospital and the Cleveland Clinic with rocking chair donations.

Eleonore Rocks was established after founders Dave and Rochelle Friedrich lost their daughter Eleonore Grace, five days after she was born. Eleonore Grace was born on Sunday, November 15th of 2009. On Friday, November 20th, they returned to the PICU knowing it was their last day with their beautiful baby girl, holding her, singing to her and rocking her. As stated by the Friedrich's, "While Eleonore was only with us for a short time, she left quite an impression and reminded us just how precious life is. Eleonore Grace rocked our lives in a way that words cannot fully express. We established this foundation to honor Eleonore's memory and to support other families enduring similar heart aches. We only hope and pray to make her proud of our efforts to honor her memory."
