- The Running Outreach Initiative is an OSU student-led non-profit whose mission is to enrich the lives of elementary and middle school students through the power of running. TROI wants to give back to the schools so graciously allowing us to host running programs there, thus we are donating race revenue to Graham Elementary & Middle School, A+ Children's Academy and South Columbus Preparatory Academy at Southfield!
5K Race Route
The 5K will begin in front of the tennis courts at Tuttle Park. Runners will head across the open field following the cones before turning left and finishing a lap around the park. Once runners reach the third baseball diamond, they will run on the grass to the right of it and complete a second lap around the park. After completing the second lap, runners will head onto the Olentangy Trail, hugging the right side of the trail and following it south toward Ohio State’s campus. Runners should stay to the right side of the trail until reaching the marked turnaround point close to 2 miles into the race, just before the narrow bridge near Morrill Tower. From there, runners will turn around and follow the same trail back toward Tuttle Park, where they will run the initial loop backwards, running across the field following the cones until the reach the finish line.
1 Mile Race/Walk Route
This route will involve a short out and back route on the Olentangy trail, starting and ending near the tennis courts. A volunteer will be stationed at the half-mile mark to direct runners and signal them to turn back
