Honor Their Sacrifice: Join Us for the Harrisburg Heroes Run on October 19, 2025 at City Island! Dress in red, white, and blue to show your support of our veterans and first responders.

5K Walk/Run and 1-Mile “Legacy Loop” Walk/Run

FREE COLOR  DASH: separate optional area for race finishers between 10:15-11:40 as supplies last!

What You Get:

* FREE Red t-shirt - ONLY for 5k registrants. T-shirts & packets can be picked up at check-in, or the day before at Koons Park: 6030 Larue St, Linglestown, PA 17112 at Pavilion #1, on 10/18/25 from 2-7PM. T-shirts must be ordered by 9/19 to receive guaranteed sizes, but we'll have some available in various sizes at the race. - see photo in "photos" link at bottom. * FREE trophy for winners of each 5k age group (top male & female:  10 and under, 11-14, 15-19, 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80+)

* FREE blue rubber bracelet for 1 mi "Legacy Loop" fun run/walk -for first 100 finishers. See photo in "photos" link at bottom.

* FREE 1 mile "Legacy Loop" Fun Run/Walk for everyone

* FREE optional Color dash for race finishers while supplies last (just a few feet but lots of color!)

* FREE water & snacks (granola bars) for race participants

* EMS & Ambulance team on standby

* Great memories, pictures, and the joy of giving back to our local heroes

* We're collecting food for the the Central PA Food Bank's "Military Share" program for veterans & families: Military Share Food Drive

*5k Path: Start at City Island, go across Walnut Street Bridge, onto Riverfront Park, turn around, and run around City Island back to the start/finish line. See photo in "photos" link at bottom. 

Proceeds benefit the Dauphin County “Wills for Heroes” events run by Spirit of Service organization and the Pennsylvania Bar Association, providing free wills and estate documents for veterans, first responders, and their families. 

Organized by the Pierce Group Initiative and the Spirit of Service student organization at Widener University Commonwealth Law School, this will be a fun family event for people of all ages to show their respect to our local heroes.
