Description

Choose your distance and join Ms. Veteran America in the Move With a Purpose Virtual Dash!

Ms. Veteran America serves as an ambassador for Final Salute, Inc., the 501(c)3 non-profit that provides homeless women Veterans, and their children, with safe and suitable housing. It costs $25 daily to provide safe and suitable housing, food, clothing and supportive services for a woman Veteran in need.  Your registration for this virtual dash makes an important and meaningful difference--each registration provides one day off the street for a homeless woman Veteran and her child(ren).

You have from December 1, 2022 to January 1, 2023 to complete your virtual dash.  Decide if you'd like to register individually, or join a team, and then choose your distance and mode of choice. Each registrant (whether individual or part of a team) must pay a $25 entry fee (plus processing) which will directly impact homeless women Veterans--the fastest growing homeless segment in the United States.

All registrants will be issued a virtual bib that can be printed and worn as you complete your dash--in one or multiple instances!  Remember you can split your distance with others on your team or complete them all--move with a purpose in the best way for you!
We'd love to see photos of you completing your virtual dash -- share them on our Facebook event page.
Additionally, all registrants earn a commemorative Ms. Veteran America's Move With a Purpose Challenge Coin upon completion of the virtual dash!  Challenge coins are a unique military tradition. These are one-of-a-kind!

Interested in donating but not participating?  We accept, appreciate and welcome any denomination of donation you can provide.  Everyone is welcome! Share this amazing event and join us as we "move with a purpose!"

Learn more about Final Salute, Inc. and the impact we make for women Veterans and their children.  A couple of testimonials are shared here:

"I found myself running for my life with my two children. I had suffered long enough at the hands of my abusive spouse of 18 years. When we left, we left with nothing. I had to abandon our home of 7 years and try to figure out a way to start over with nothing. Final Salute stepped in and helped me to do just that by providing the financial assistance needed to pay the first month's rent on our new home. I cannot express the profound gratitude for their help. I served six years in the Air Force and I thought I was strong enough to do everything on my own. Wrong! What Final Salute showed me through their generosity and support is that my fellow sister vets have my back, and I will always have theirs as well. Thank you so much." -- R. Pierce (Midlothian, VA)

"I served for 9 years in the Army National Guard for the 132nd Support Battalion from 2004-2012. I found out about Final Salute thru my local Veteran's office. I was referred to them because my children and I were Homeless and had struggled to find housing for 8 months after losing the home we lived in for 11 years! I was pregnant when we became homeless and my newborn baby is now 2 months old. I had no home to bring my baby girl and her brother and sister too. We finally found a home to move to after 8 months of searching! Only problem we had was we needed the funds to secure the home and move in. After getting the number from my local Veterans office I called Final Salute and filled out the application online. I explained my situation and they were able to help me secure a home for my children and myself! Even during the tough times we are in with Covid-19. They were my last hope! I had applied and been denied multiple times by multiple organizations. I'm so happy I contacted Final Salute! Now my family and I have a home to go to and we couldn't be more grateful!"-- Alicia K. (Lake Geneva, WI)
