Bike Time Trial

BIKE TIME TRIAL:  17 MILES
An out and back course on Hwy 71. Participants will proceed south on Hwy 71 to Woolsey Road and then return to the Arkansas Air and Military Museum.. Finish line is located approximately one-half mile south of the main entrance to the airport. The bike course has less than 300 feet elevation gain.

MINIMUM AGE

  • All riders racing age 18 or younger must run junior gears per USA Cycling rules
  • Juniors are eligible for Junior Devo Race Series points and medals
  • Must be at least 12 years of age to compete unless accompanied by a bike chaperone and approved by the Race Director

JUNIOR DEVO RACE SERIES

  • The Iron Pig TT is a USA Cycling Junior Devo Race Series (JDRS) event. This program provides opportunities for aspiring junior riders across the United States. Separate awards will be presented to the top three junior males and females.

START TIMES 

  • Interval start times at :30 seconds
  • Start time is determined by registration. Earliest registrants go first
  • Start times will be posted to the web site on Friday night after close of registration and at the event site the morning of the race
  • Riders may opt for start times to be sent by text to their cell phone

STAGING AREA / START / FINSH

  • The staging area and start house for the Bike Time Trial will be just north of the airport on Roadrunner Lane / Hwy 71B intersection at the "General Dentistry" lot.  NO Parking at the Dentist office!  The "start house" tent will be set-up on the west lane of the south bound traffic of Hwy 71B
  • FINISH LINE is located south of Greenland on 71B in the eastern most lane (number 1).  The finish line will be marked by large orange cones, tape on the road, 1K & 200 meter signage and a timing clock.
  • PLEASE LET OFFICIALS KNOW YOU ARE A TIME TRAIL PARTICIPANT WHEN CROSSING THE LINE!
  • Stay to the RIGHT after crossing the line as Duathlon competitors will be coming up on the left
  • Make sure to not interfere with duathletes turning back into the museum parking lot.

USA CYCLING (USAC) INFO

  • Valid and Current USA Cycling license MUST BE PRESENTED at registration or one-day USA Cycling license ($15) must be purchased.  The cost of the one-day license can be applied to the annual adult license.  NO EXCEPTIONS
  • Event held under USA Cycling Rules and Regulations.
  • All riders racing age 18 or younger must run junior gears per USA Cycling rules
  • USA Cycling Permit: 2021 permit pending

BIB NUMBERS / BIKE FRAME #'S / EQUIPMENT

  • Bike check will be performed at time trail Start House.  USA Cycling Rules apply.
  • Bib Numbers (Qty 2) - Back of uniform on the RIGHT SIDE ABOVE POCKET (bottom of the number should be placed along the side seam of the back of the jersey)
  • Do NOT pin through the holes.  Use 7 safety pins (1 in each corner and 1 in each of the middle sections of the bib's top three sides)
  • Do NOT WRINKLE NUMBERS
  • Bike Frame # - attach to seat post (see onsite example)
  • ANSI/SNEL approved helmets MUST BE WORN at all time on the bike
  • Aero bars allowed in all categories except Eddy Merckx division
  • Eddy Merckx division is a non-aero equipment category  - Eddy Merckx Division

PARKING / GENERAL INFO

  • Fayetteville Executive Airport, Drake Field, 4500 S School Ave, Fayetteville, AR 72701 is located only 5 miles from downtown Fayetteville on Hwy 71
  • Please use rows farthest from terminal and do not park in front of private hangers.
  • DO NOT PARK ON HWY 71 
  • Promoter reserves the right to adjust start times, mileage, cancel/combine events.
  • Event will be held Rain or Shine
