2026 Course Information

Course maps for both the timed 5K Run/Walk and untimed 1-Mile Walk are displayed below. Both scenic routes wind through the beautiful Maryland Zoo exhibits.

Course Improvements for 2026

We listened! Based on feedback from last year's participant survey, we've made several enhancements for our third year at the Maryland Zoo:

• Clearer and increase signage along separated routes for 5K and 1-Mile participants

• Staggered start for the 5K with improved start line positioning

• 5-minute gap between race starts for enhanced safety

Stroller Policy

Strollers are welcome but for everyone's safety, participants with strollers should position themselves at the back of the start line for both events.

The post-race award ceremony will take place at 10:30 a.m. at the Waterfowl Pavillion. 

Overall top 3 male, female and non-binary finishers will receive an official, branded Miracles in Motion 5K finisher medal. Our finishers are encouraged to take a photo upon receiving their award.

This race is professionally timed by Mettle Timing, LLC.

7:00 AM - Race Day Check-in/packet pick-up opens

7:30 AM - All onsite activities and Event Village tents open

8:10 AM - Pre-Race program begins and top fundraising awards announced!

8:30 AM - 5K Run starts

8:35 AM - 1-Mile Walk starts

9:45 AM - Critter Crawl Kids Dash starts

10:00 AM - Meet Animal Ambassador 1

10:30 AM - Meet Animal Ambassador 2

10:30 AM - Post-race ceremony begins and top race awards announced in the Waterfowl Pavilion!

11:00 AM - Onsite activities, vendor tents close, event ends
