Description
The Tri Up North Triathlons are bike, paddle, run triathlons in Frankfort, Michigan. Located on Betsie Bay and the Western shore of Lake Michigan, Frankfort is the perfect location for a triathlon. 2015 was the inaugural year for this 10 mile event which was specifically geared toward beginners and those looking for a little motivation to become more active. In 2016, we introduced the Challenger Course which is a competitive 22 mile course for experienced athletes and relay teams. Our goal is to engage young people, families and individuals to make healthy choices and live an active lifestyle so everyone can enjoy all that Northern Michigan has to offer.
The weekend of the Tri Up North Triathlon provides a great opportunity for both locals and visitors to enjoy an athletic challenge and then relax and soak in Northern Michigan. Fall offers an explosion of gorgeous colors to add to the areas natural beauty and the easy going pace. With Frankfort as your home base for the weekend, you're in one of the most picturesque harbor towns; on M22, one of Michigan's most famous roads; and right at the edge of the Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore. With the race on Sunday your Saturday is free. You can visit the Frankfort Fall Festival and be amazed by the giant pumpkins and entertained by the famous Scottville Clown Band or you can set off to explore Frankfort and the other beautiful nearby communities.There's no better way to get the "Up North" feel than making October 15 your weekend to Tri Up North!
Registration
The 2017 registration includes a one-day USAT membership for all racers in all race categories. Current annual USAT members can receive a $15 discount by entering the discount code "USAT" and providing their membership number at checkout. An annual membership card must be presented at packet pickup to retain this discount, failure to do so will require purchase of a one day membership prior to race participation.
Online registration will be closing at 10:00pm on Friday, October 13, 2017. Registration can be completed in person on Saturday from 5-7pm or on Sunday from 7:30-8:30am in Mineral Springs Park, Frankfort.
