The 17th Annual Race Montana Triathlon is scheduled for Sunday, July 23rd, 2023 at the Electric City Water Park in Great Falls, Montana.
The Race Montana Triathlon Sprint Distance event will start at 7:00 am. The event has 500-meter swim in the Electric City Water Park 50-meter pool. The Bike portion will be 12.2 miles with the first 5 miles and last 6 miles being relatively flat. Mile 6 is a steady climb to the turn-around. The run will be a fast and flat 3.1 miles. If you do not want to compete in all three events, get some friends together and compete as a team. Team racers will start the event with individual racers based on anticipated 500-meter swim time.
NEW for 2023 is a Duathon !!! The Duathlon will feature a 1.0 - mile run that starts from the Bike Transition in the Electric City Water Park Parking Lot. The run is completely flat. Runners will return to the Electric City Water Park Parking Lot to transition to their bikes. The Bike portion will be 12.2 miles with the first 5 miles and last 6 miles being relatively flat. Mile 6 is a steady climb to the turn-around. Upon returning to the transition area, athletes will complete the event with a final 3.1 mile run.
We will once again have our "Try a Tri" event for adults who are interested in taking on the challenge of a swim, bike, run event but would prefer not to compete in the full Sprint Triathlon. The "Try a Tri" features a 100-meter swim in the Electric City Water Park 50-meter pool, a 3-mile bike ride on a portion of the Rivers Edge Trail, and a 1-mile run. This event has the ideal distances to allow an individual the opportunity to give Triathlon a "Try" without having to complete the distances of a Sprint Triathlon. The "Try a Tri" athletes will also enter the water based on swim time. The event will get underway once the Sprint Triathlon athletes complete their swim.
Beginning at 9:00 a.m there will be one of two youth divisions - making it a great event for the entire family. The Youth Triathlon Long Course includes a 100-meter swim (2 pool lengths), a 3-mile bike; and a 1-mile run. The Youth Triathlon Short Course will start at 9:30 am and will include a 50-meter swim (1 pool length), a 1-mile bike; and a ½ mile run.
All race participants will be able to enter the ELECTRIC CITY WATER PARK FOR FREE from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm on race day. Racers' family members can enter the water park at the regular rate of admission.
The race will be professionally timed by Competitive Timing (Whitefish, Montana – http://competitivetiming.com/).
