About Isaiah House

All money raised will benefit Isaiah House, a community fixture since 1988. Isaiah House's mission is to reduce the prevalence of homelessness, hunger and unemployment throughout Essex County and more specifically, within the Oranges and Newark.  They are dedicated to those families and individuals who are considered “most fragile” – that is, those who have been devastated by unemployment, illness, drug addiction, teenage pregnancy, fires and crises. Isaiah House offers a variety of support services to family members, including life skills training, instructions in household and money management, job search assistance, tutoring, medical referrals, and on-site drug and alcohol support groups.

FAQ's

What is a color run? A color run is fun, untimed event where participants are doused with colored powder at various stations along the route.

What is the colored powder made out of? The colored powder is made out of high-quality cornstarch, dyes and baking soda. All of the powder is gluten free and does not contain dairy, nuts, wheat, soy or other common allergens.

Will the dye stain my clothing? The colored powder washes out of most clothing. However, it can stain some materials. 100% cotton clothing is recommended and typical machine washing with stain remover removes the stains. It is recommended to remove excess powder from clothing before washing and/or applying water.

How long will the event be? This is not a timed run, so the event will be as long as it takes you to run/walk one mile! Participants are encouraged to hang out and cheer on the other runners after they complete the course. The 6u Kids 100 Meter Run will begin at 11am. The event should be wrapped up by 11:30am.

What should I wear/bring to the color run?  A white t-shirt is recommended for maximum color impact; your shirt will have a fun tie-dye look by the end. If at all possible, wear old clothing/shoes that you don't mind getting colorful!  Goggles or sunglasses are also a good idea to protect your eyes from the powder and a towel to wipe yourself down/ protect your car seats after the run is helpful.
