Description

The GRRC summer picnic and membership meeting will be at the Towpath Shelter in Greece Canal Park. Open to members, members' guests, and potential members. This does include a membership meeting, which might be unappealing to children. In that case, there is a small playground nearby for those who want that option.

The club will provide grilled items, and attendees are asked to bring a dish or drink to share (see the "What to Bring" tab). Registration will be open through the day of the picnic, but to ensure we have the right amount of food, members are urged to register in advance. We don't want to over or under order!

*We do our best to ensure everyone can eat something from the club offerings. If you have severe dietary restrictions or allergies, please contact us BEFORE you register, and we'll try to accommodate you. Please understand, we may not be able to meet everyone's needs, despite our best efforts and the dish-to-share nature of the event may mean needing to confirm ingredients before choosing something you didn't bring.

What to Bring

This is a dish to share event. The club will provide a main course and attendees are asked to bring something to share. How much really depends on how many people show, but generally, if everyone brings a dish that's enough to serve 6-8 people, that's enough. That means not everyone gets a bit of everything, but everyone should get enough to eat and drink.

Note: So everyone can enjoy the walk/run, participants should keep their dishes in their cars in coolers or warmers as appropriate until after the workout.

Needs with Examples

Drinks - Tea, lemonade

Snacks - Potato chips with dip, chips and salsa, veggies

Side Dishes - Potato salad, baked beans, coleslaw

Desserts - Cookies, cupcakes, fruit
