Ride Basics
PinkStrong Ride is a community cycling event focused on breast cancer awareness, encouragement, and bringing riders together for a fun and meaningful day on the bike 🚴
Riders can choose from multiple route distances ranging from a family-friendly 10-mile ride to longer endurance options like the 63-mile challenge. Route maps and mileage details are posted on the registration website.
PinkStrong Ride is a supported open-road cycling ride focused on fun, breast cancer awareness, and community rather than competition. Riders are encouraged to ride at their own pace and choose the distance that best matches their abilities and equipment.
No fundraising required 🚫 You do not have to raise money to ride. Riders may choose to give to our charity partner completely at their own free will, but there is absolutely no obligation to donate or fundraise.
Usually yes 🚴 Riders may officially change distances up to 3 days before event day. During the event, riders may also shorten their route based on comfort, weather, energy levels, or ride-day vibes. If injured or struggling, we strongly encourage riders to adjust down for safety. Some cutoff times may apply.
Routes & Safety
No. PinkStrong Ride is an open-road cycling event. Riders must obey all traffic laws unless directed by law enforcement or event staff.
Yes 🚴 Routes are marked with signage, pavement markings, directional arrows, and color-coded route support to help riders navigate safely. GPX route files are available for riders using bike computers or navigation apps. (see our maps page)
Yes. SAG vehicles will be on course assisting riders with basic support, transportation needs, and non-emergency situations when possible.
Yes. Time cutoffs are mainly enforced on our 45-mile and 63-mile routes to help ensure riders finish with traffic control support, SAG coverage, and open aid stations. Generally, riders averaging 10+ mph should be able to complete even our longest route within the supported time limits. If needed, staff may reroute riders to shorter distances at designated cutoff locations to help create a safer and more enjoyable ride experience.
Yes 🚴 PinkStrong Ride welcomes a wide range of riders from newer cyclists to experienced endurance athletes. Riders are encouraged to choose the distance that best matches their comfort level.
Rest Stops & Rider Support
Rest stops are placed throughout the course approximately every 10–15 miles depending on the route distance. Most routes include 2–4 aid stations.
Rest stops typically include water, sports drinks, snacks, and basic ride fuel. The finish area includes post-ride food, drinks, and PinkStrong community vibes 🚴
Yes. Portable restrooms and restroom access will be available at select rest stops and at the start/finish area.
Limited on-course mechanical support may be available, but riders are strongly encouraged to carry the basics needed to fix a flat tire or simple bike issue. Depending on bike mechanic availability, limited pre-ride support may also be available at the start area.
SAG support will assist riders whenever possible. Riders should remain safely off the roadway and contact event staff if assistance is needed. Keep in mind the course covers a large area, so pickup wait times may vary depending on rider location and SAG availability.
Bikes & Equipment
Most roadworthy bicycles are welcome including road bikes, hybrids, gravel bikes, and many recreational bikes.
Yes. Pedal-assist e-bikes are welcome unless otherwise noted in specific event rules. Riders should operate e-bikes safely and courteously around others. Please note we are unable to provide charging support or e-bike mechanical repairs.
Yes. Approved bicycle helmets are required for all riders during the event.
Lights are strongly encouraged for riders starting near sunrise or riding in lower-light conditions. Reflective gear is always a smart safety choice. Be bright. Be seen.
Yes, though riders using aero bars should remain alert and use extra caution around groups, aid stations, and crowded areas.
Ride Day Experience
Pancake & Pop is the fun post-ride celebration featuring pancakes, drinks, music, and community hangout vibes after the ride 🥞
Yes 🚴 Riders can expect finisher medals, event photography, and fun photo opportunities throughout ride weekend.
Absolutely. Friends, family members, spectators, and supporters are welcome to cheer riders on and enjoy the finish area atmosphere.
Absolutely! 👍 PinkStrong Ride celebrates fun, pink spirit, team outfits, themed kits, and positive community energy.
Team Tent Village is a designated area where teams and clubs can gather, set up tents, and enjoy ride day together.
Weather, Policies & Logistics
Free onsite parking is available at the ride start location. Parking details and maps will be shared before ride weekend. Riders should follow all parking signage and volunteer directions on event morning.
Riders are encouraged to arrive early to allow time for parking, check-in, photos, and pre-ride announcements. Event schedules and check-in information will be emailed during race week.
PinkStrong Ride is generally held rain or shine, but severe weather or unsafe road conditions may result in delays, route modifications, or cancellation for rider safety.
Registrations may be transferred or deferred to another year through your RunSignup/BikeSignup account. Additional event policies regarding refunds, transfers, and deferrals are listed on the registration website.
Riders will receive event-week communication with important contact information, updates, and ride-day support instructions.
