FAQs for Pinnacle Peak Duathlon
The Mt. Rainier Duathlon had been going on for over 20 years. Things change over time and people’s interest changed with them. The Pinnacle Peak Duathlon will be put on in place of Mt. Rainier Duathlon.
We still wanted to have an early season event. The community had been very supportive of the race through it's life. We didn't want to leave the area!
1) Registration closes the day before the event. There is no day of registration.
2) Packet pickup for this event is all held the morning of the race. Packet pickup will open at 7:30.
1) This location does have limited parking, but with the maximum capacity of 125, we will have enough parking for everyone.
2) There is no parking fee.
We've decided to only allow individuals to enter, as an age group racer. This course will have some fast finishers. There is minimal elevation changes and mostly right turns.
When we created the course, we thought that if a person can do one of the legs, they'd be able to do them all!
You may register for both the Pinnacle Peak Duathlons - the one in April and the one in October. These duathlons are "low-frills" events. If you register for both events at the same time, you will get a $10 overall discount.
No other discounts are available for this event.
The course must be completed by 11:30 am.
No. Per USAT sanctioning rules headphones - of any type - aren't allowed on the course.
No dogs are allowed on course.
I realized that not everyone wants all of the bells and whistles, so we're putting on a race without them! What should I expect?
You can expect the following:

-

-
Enough food to be your lunch
-
A giveaway for every participant
-
Any race division besides Age Group.
And for this race?!? The hill climb will be missing! I'm paraphrasing, but as one of my favorite lawyer-racer-participant said "Oh, thank goodness!!"
This is our first "Low Frills" event. We're hoping to offer you a good pre-season event without all the bells and whistles! Hopefully, after you pay the registration fees you have enough to cover your own bells and whistles :-D
The start and finish lines are both at the park.
There will be porta-potties available. There are also (pit) toilets at the park.
There is no water on the bike course.
There will be water at the 5K turnaround and the finish.
