What is the Date, Time, and Location of the Event?

What is the event day schedule?
Registration opens at 6 am
1 Mile Kids Race: Starts at 7:30 am
3 Mile Run: Starts at 8:25 am
3 Mile Walk: Starts at 8:30 am
5 Mile Run: Starts at 8:15 am

 

When should I arrive?
Try to arrive an hour before your event to park, use the restroom, and get ready to trot.

 

Where should I park? 
Please park at The Woodlands Mall or The Pavilion Parking Garage
Remember, the early bird gets the worm and the best parking!

 

Where does the race start and finish?
All races start and finish in front of The Pavilion

 

What does the registration include?
T-Shirt, Medal, Commemorative Bib, post race food and activities. 

Are entries refundable?
No

Can I register the day of the event?
No, the event has sold out; therefore, registration will not be available on race day.

 

When does registration close?
November 26th or unit it sells out.

 

What if I need to change my race or update my account information? 
You can update your registration by logging into your RunSignUp account, going to the race, and clicking on Manage Registration.

When is packet pickup?
Packet Pickup location: Shadowbend YMCA, 6145 Shadowbend Pl, The Woodlands, TX 77381
Saturday: 10 AM – 5 PM
Sunday: 1 PM – 4 PM
Monday: 9 AM – 7 PM
Tuesday: 9 AM – 7 PM
Wednesday: 8 AM – 11 AM
 
What do I need to bring with me to pick up my packet?
Bring your confirmation email for quicker service.

 

Can someone else pick up my packet?
Yes. You must inform them that you are picking up their packet so they do not make a wasted trip to packet pickup.

 

Can I have my packet mailed out to me?
No

 

Can I pick up my packet on race day?
Yes; however, we encourage you to pick up before race day to avoid long lines.

 

Is there an age limit to participate?
No, however IF your child is under the age of 3 and will be in a stroller, you do not need to register them as a participant, unless you want them to receive a shirt and medal. 

 

Can I walk instead of run?
Absolutely! It’s a family fun event. This is a great way to enjoy Thanksgiving morning with your friends and family.

 

Are strollers, pets or wheelchairs allowed?
Strollers & Wheelchairs are allowed. We do ask strollers to start toward the back and be mindful not to block the course.
We love our furry family but pets are not allowed on the course.

 

Will there be a bag drop?
No

 

What items are prohibited to bring to Run Thru The Woods?
Firearms, Roller skates, Heelys, skateboards, scooters and any other items with rolling features are prohibited. Participants who bring any of these items to the race are subject to disqualification and removal from the course by safety personnel or volunteers. Headphones are discouraged for the safety of all participants in the race.

 

What happens if it rains or there is bad weather?

We will race rain or shine! If lighting/inclement weather is present, the race could be postponed or canceled.

 

Is there a lost & found location?
Yes, at the Info/Awards Tent.

 

Will awards be given to race winners?
1 Mile Children’s Race:  Awards for the top 3 finishers of each age group, male and female (No duplication of awards)
3 Mile Run: Awards for the top 3 finishers per age group, male and female (No duplication of awards) Master’s division for ages 40 and older. 
5 Mile Race: Awards for the top 3 finishers per age group, male and female (No duplication of awards) Master's division for ages 40 and older.
Overall Winners are determined by Gun Time.
Age Group Winners are determined by Chip Time.

 

How can I volunteer for the event?

Can parents run with their child at the Kids run?
Yes, parents can run their the registered child in the Kids Run without registering. Parents must register if they want a shirt and medal.
