PACKET PICK-UP

Packet pick-up is ONLY available on race day,

Saturday, October 3, at the race site from 6:00 am - 7:45 am.

PHOTO IDENTIFICATION

All participants will be required to show photo identification at packet pick-up, including all relay team members.  You will not be permitted to pick up your race packet without presenting a photo ID!  All participants must pick up their own race packet.

RACE PACKET

Your race packet will contain two race numbers and a swim cap.

As part of Set Up’s GO GREEN initiative, we’ve reduced the amount of printed materials in your packet. Course maps and event details are available on the event website.  If you wish to have this info with you at the race, please print it and bring it with you.

RACE NUMBERS

The square number in your Race Packet is your run number and must be displayed on the front of your body during the run segment of the race.  Safety pins will be available at packet pick-up if you don’t have, or prefer not to use, a race number belt.

The rectangular number (identifiable with adhesive backing and containing your race number twice) is used during the bike segment of the race.  Place this number over the top tube of your bike – toward the front if possible.

INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY

In the event of inclement weather the following procedures will be followed:

The event will be postponed in hopes the inclement weather will pass. If the inclement weather does not pass in time to complete the event safely in the original or modified format, the event will be canceled. If the weather passes and the event cannot be held within the permitted time limits, the event will be changed to a duathlon format and possibly modified in length to meet these restrictions.

Every effort will be made to hold this event on time on this date. Should this event be canceled due to an Act of God or other circumstance beyond the race directors control there will be no refunds, credits, or transfers.

NO EXCEPTIONS will be made to this policy.

By registering for this event you agree to this weather policy.

PARKING & PARK ACCESS

Parking at Sandling Beach is conveniently located next to the transition area and finish line in the park’s main parking lot. If the main lot fills, overflow parking will be available in an adjacent lot just a few hundred yards away.

The front gate will open at 6:00 AM.

Important: No Vehicle Traffic from 7:45 AM–10:45 AM

Because Sandling Beach will be closed to normal park traffic during the triathlon and the main entrance road is part of the bike course, no vehicles will be permitted to enter or exit Sandling Beach between 7:45 AM and 10:45 AM.

This restriction applies to:

  • Participants
  • Spectators
  • Volunteers
  • Vendors
  • Race staff and support personnel

If family or friends plan to attend the race, please make sure they arrive before 7:45 AM.

The Wake County Sheriff’s Office and North Carolina State Parks personnel will be stationed at the entrance and will enforce the road closure.

Parking is not permitted along Highway 50, outside the Sandling Beach entrance, or at the Beaverdam entrance across Highway 50.

Please plan your arrival and departure accordingly.

DEFERRRALS & TRANSFERS

Registered participants may defer their registration or transfer to another Set Up Events-owned race up to two weeks before race day.

  • Deferral/Transfer Fee: $20
