Description
Hello, my name is Madeline Sindt, and I’ve been part of The Westridge Waves swim team for the past 13 years. This team has shaped who I am—both in and out of the pool—and it holds a special place in my heart.
Mental health affects every one of us, whether we speak about it openly or not. For my family and me, it became deeply personal when we lost someone we loved to suicide. That loss changed our lives, and it’s why I’m passionate about creating space for conversation, connection, and support.
In partnership with The Waves, I’m honored to host a Swimathon for Mental Health Awareness—a community-driven event to raise awareness about mental health and support suicide prevention efforts. This isn’t just a fundraiser; it’s a chance for us to come together, support one another, and send a powerful message: you are not alone.
The event will feature more than just swimming. There will be:
-Music to energize and unite us throughout the evening
- Guest Speakers sharing messages of hope, resilience, and personal experience
- Resource Tables offering mental health information, support tools, and ways to get involved—featuring organizations like the ConnerStrong Foundation
We warmly invite the entire Westridge community to join us. All participants must be 7 years of age or older. Participants must be able to swim 25 meters unaccompanied. Whether you're swimming, cheering, donating, or simply showing up, your presence matters. Mental health impacts us all—and together, we can make a real difference.
All proceeds will benefit the ConnerStrong Foundation, an organization making meaningful strides in mental health advocacy and suicide prevention.
Let’s make waves—for awareness, for connection, and for hope.
Thank you for being a part of this important cause.
