Take a map and divide into pickup zones, ensuring coverage of controls (ideally ~5-6 per person), and copy to a map for each individual. Controls can be quite remote. Bike or 4x4 vehicle ideal. May want to consider dropping off team-members at their pickup zones. For some courses, consider picking up controls nearest the start first and making way towards finish since last of competitors may still be out.
