Packet Pick-Up and Red Envelope Redemption

July 18, 2026

Details

Volunteers at the bib pickup station will manage four pickup lines, organized alphabetically by last name. Each line will have one volunteer looking up names, one volunteer handing out packets, and one volunteer acquiring signatures for CPD waivers. Please be prepared to assist runners quickly and efficiently, and double-check bib numbers during hand-off. We will switch to red envelope giveaway once packet pick-up time is finish.

All volunteer shifts will start at 6:30 AM. While you have selected a specific volunteer task, there may be a chance that you will be moved to a different task.

July 18, 2026

Details

Volunteers will accept participant gear bags. Bibs have a detachable tag with a corresponding number. Volunteers will tag bags, and organize them in numerical order for easy retrieval post-race. Please keep bags sorted by bib number and supervised at all times.

All volunteer shifts will start at 6:30 AM. While you have selected a specific volunteer task, there may be a chance that you will be moved to a different task.

Corral Start and Giveways

July 18, 2026

Details

This role consists of 3 responsibilities:
- setting up the start area
- Assisting with start wave procedures
- moving equipment to the finish area.

Race Start Procedures: There will be four total waves of runners representing the following paces: 8:30 min/mile, 8:30-10:30, remaining joggers and walking. The start of each wave will be designated by a rope held by two volunteers. Volunteers will move forward and remove the rope just before the start of each wave as prompted by the start line announcer. You will need to pay attention to announcements.

Start Line Disassembly & Finish Line Setup: Once the final wave has started, you’ll assist with breaking down the start area, and moving equipment ~100 ft to the finish area (just beyond the start line). Tasks may include removing barriers, carrying tables, and transporting materials such as medals, snacks, and drinks to the finish area.

All volunteer shifts will start at 6:30 AM. While you have selected a specific volunteer task, there may be a chance that you will be moved to a different task.

Water Station - On Course and Finish Line

July 18, 2026

Details

One group of volunteers will prepare water cups and hand off cups to runners during the race. Please pour cups half full and avoid blocking runners. This will help minimize spillage and risks of collisions.
After the race, volunteers will clean up trash from the area. Expect fast-paced handing-off during the race and bring energy to cheer runners on!

We would recommend volunteers wear clothes and shoes they are not afraid of getting wet (or bring a change of clothes). Sometimes the hand-off doesn’t go exactly to plan and you may get splashed!

Another group of volunteers will set up and manage post-race hydration near the finish line. Refill water as needed and assist tired runners looking for a quick drink.

All volunteer shifts will start at 6:30 AM. While you have selected a specific volunteer task, there may be a chance that you will be moved to a different task.

Course Marshal

July 18, 2026

Details

Volunteers will be stationed at intersections and turnaround points to keep runners on course and cheer them on. You are the eyes and ears of the event on the course, so stay alert for runner injuries, confusion, or dangerous activities (e.g. vehicles trying to get around barricades).

You will also be responsible for keeping spectators off the track, especially in busy areas or runner choke points.

All volunteer shifts will start at 6:30 AM. While you have selected a specific volunteer task, there may be a chance that you will be moved to a different task.

Handing out 5K and Youth Run Medals and Red Envelopes

July 18, 2026

Details

Volunteers will place medals around finishers’ heads (or hand them out depending on finisher preference) as participants cross the line and hand out Red Envelopes. Be energetic and offer congratulations! We recommend having 2 volunteers focused exclusively on unpacking medals and 2 volunteers awarding medals to finishers.

All volunteer shifts will start at 6:30 AM. While you have selected a specific volunteer task, there may be a chance that you will be moved to a different task.

Food and Drink

July 18, 2026

Details

Volunteers will help set up the finish area after the race starts and the last wave of runners have cleared out. Volunteers will unpack boxes of snacks/drinks and distribute these to race finishers. Volunteers will also be responsible for wheeling full trash/recycle bins away and replacing them with new ones. We recommend having a few volunteers focused exclusively on unpacking materials and the rest of the volunteers handing items out. Volunteers should also try their best to limit giveaways to 1 item per runner so we don’t run out of materials for later finishers.

All volunteer shifts will start at 6:30 AM. While you have selected a specific volunteer task, there may be a chance that you will be moved to a different task.
