Details
This role consists of 3 responsibilities:
- setting up the start area
- Assisting with start wave procedures
- moving equipment to the finish area.
Race Start Procedures: There will be four total waves of runners representing the following paces: 8:30 min/mile, 8:30-10:30, remaining joggers and walking. The start of each wave will be designated by a rope held by two volunteers. Volunteers will move forward and remove the rope just before the start of each wave as prompted by the start line announcer. You will need to pay attention to announcements.
Start Line Disassembly & Finish Line Setup: Once the final wave has started, you’ll assist with breaking down the start area, and moving equipment ~100 ft to the finish area (just beyond the start line). Tasks may include removing barriers, carrying tables, and transporting materials such as medals, snacks, and drinks to the finish area.
All volunteer shifts will start at 6:30 AM. While you have selected a specific volunteer task, there may be a chance that you will be moved to a different task.
