Check in runners and assign them a bib using RunSignup's free app. Volunteer should be comfortable with mobile technology. We'll provide instructions on how to use the app onsite. You can volunteer for this and still run the race.

Mary Street Parking Coordinator High Priority

Details

Fit as many cars as possible in the gravel lot and keep things orderly.

- Wear the provided safety vest.
- Direct cars into straight, tight rows — minimize gaps.
- Fill the lot intentionally (avoid random spacing).
- Keep a clear lane for cars to exit.
- Be friendly, clear, and confident — people will follow your lead.

When the lot is full: Direct overflow to a back lot further northwest along 5 Mile Rd.

You can volunteer for this and still run the race - your location will be close to the starting line.

Back Parking Lot Attendant & Course Guard High Priority

After the Dover Park and Mary St lots are full, racers will be directed to a back lot further east on 5 Mile Road. Check in with race coordinator at Dover Park at the beginning of your shift. Close the parking gate and lock it after the last runner leaves.

Parking lot attendant: Fit as many cars as possible in the gravel lot and keep things orderly.

Course Guard: At 6PM walk approx 0.25 miles from the parking lot to a point on the course (map will be provided) and direct runners on the correct turns. Runners will pass this point two times on the course. This volunteer position cannot race, but this a great spot to cheer on runners!

Timer Support: Record Bib # in Finish Order High Priority

Details

Watch the finish line closely and write down bib numbers as runners cross the finish line. Check in with the lead timer at 5:45 for instructions.

Back-up Timer

September 9, 2026

Details

Collect back-up finish times in the event the lead timer misses anything.

We'll provide you with our Seiko timer and train you onsite. It's easy - just push a button at the start and when each runner finishes. You can volunteer and still race. We'll have 2 volunteers who can trade off back-up timing as the other one races.

Check in with the lead timer at 5:45 for instructions.

Course Marker Cleanup High Priority

September 9, 2026

Details

Follow the last racer and pick up all the course markings (signs and flagging). Will require carrying either a large backpack or bucket to hold materials as you go. You will walk the entire course. This is a great volunteer role if you're not interested in running, but still want a workout.
