Aid Station #1

You must be 12 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

Aid station #1 is located on Washington Blvd just north of Town St (behind COSI) and is great for groups!

Aid station volunteer duties may include:

-Filling water cups
-Cheering and encouraging runners
-Handing out water cups to passing runners
-Cleaning up and breaking down the area after the last participants and course sweepers pass by

This position may require some moderate lifting up to 40 lbs, and you will likely get a bit wet so wear old shoes and clothing that can take a little bit of water.

All volunteers will receive a free entry to one of select future CRC-sponsored races after the event. Volunteers will receive a Columbus 10K volunteer shirt (while supplies last) and a beverage ticket for use in the Barbasol Finish Line Festival after their shift.

Course Marshal

You must be 18 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

Course marshals help by keeping runners on course and safe. Police officers should be on hand at each intersection to manage traffic but are not responsible for participant route instruction. Course marshals will assist at key points in making sure runners stay on the course and take all proper turns.

Course marshal volunteer duties include:
- A proper understanding of the course (all route assistants will be provided with a course map, and a detailed duty assignment for their specific area)
- Working with present law enforcement to keep runners safe from vehicular traffic
- Wear bright comfortable clothing

Specific start/end times may vary slightly based on location along the race route, but will not exceed the times listed here.

All volunteers will receive one free entry to a future CRC Signature Series race after the event. Volunteers will receive a reflective vest to utilize while performing their duties. Please return this to the sweepers as they pass by.

Finish Line Area

You must be 12 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

Be the first to greet our 10K participants as they cross the finish line!

Finish line area volunteer duties may include:
- Medal distribution - reward participants for their accomplishment!
- Water distribution - helping tired participants stay hydrated after they finish
- Food distribution - getting our finish line food (bananas, granola bars, salty snacks)

This position may require some light lifting up to 30 lbs.

All volunteers will receive one free entry to a future CRC Signature Series race after the event. Volunteers will receive a Columbus 10K volunteer shirt (while supplies last) and a beverage ticket for use in the Barbasol Finish Line Festival after their shift.

Finish Line Setup

You must be 18 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

Assist Columbus 10K staff in getting the Finish Line Area set up and ready for race time. Volunteers in this area will work with the Finish Line Coordinator to move tables and unpack water, medals, and snacks. Finish Line Setup volunteers CAN also participate in the race.

This position may require some lifting up to 40 lbs.

All volunteers will receive one free entry to a future CRC Signature Series race after the event. Volunteers will receive a Columbus 10K volunteer shirt (while supplies last) and a beverage ticket for use in the Barbasol Finish Line Festival after their shift.

Beer Garden

You must be 21 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

Beer garden volunteers will be stationed in the post-event area on the west lawn of North Bank Park. Duties may include:

- Verifying ID
- Taking cash/credit card payments
- Pouring beer into cups
- Helping to maintain a clean and efficient area

All volunteers will receive one free entry to a future CRC Signature Series race after the event. Volunteers will receive a Columbus 10K volunteer shirt (while supplies last) and a beverage ticket for use in the Barbasol Finish Line Festival after their shift.

Race Day Check-In

You must be 18 or older to volunteer for this task.

Check-In volunteer duties may include:
- Providing runners with their race packets (race number, t-shirt, race bag)
- Using a smartphone app to check in participants
- Answering of basic race-related questions

**Please note that Race Day Check-In volunteers are expected to complete their shift and cannot participate in the in-person race.**

This position may require some light lifting up to 30 lbs.

Gear Check volunteers will help participants by keeping their gear safe, collecting items in approved bags, and then distributing them back to participants after they finish. Volunteers in this area should be comfortable on their feet and be upbeat and encouraging to all!

VIP Tent

VIP Tent volunteers will assist our VIP Tent Area Lead in making sure that all members of the QuickStitch Plus VIP Tent are looked after and have everything they need. Volunteers in this area should be comfortable on their feet and be upbeat and encouraging to all!

Age Group Award Distribution

Age Group Award Distribution volunteers will help participants look up their results, verify any age group winners, and help distribute awards on event day. Volunteers in this area should be comfortable with light mobile app usage on their personal devices and be upbeat and encouraging to all! (Remember: you must bring your smartphone with you to your volunteer duty!)

Finish Line Festival Photography Assistants

You must be 18 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

We have a number of photo opportunities around our Finish Line Festival. Volunteers in this area will help participants and spectators by taking pictures with the participant/spectator's phone so they can quickly share on their social media accounts. Minimal photography experience required (ie, if you have a smartphone and have taken pictures before, you're a natural!). Volunteers in this area should be outgoing and ready to encourage people to stop by their area to get some help snapping a photo!

All volunteers will receive one free entry to a future CRC Signature Series race after the event. Volunteers will receive a Columbus 10K volunteer shirt (while supplies last) and a beverage ticket for use in the Barbasol Finish Line Festival after their shift.

- Providing volunteers with their volunteer-specific shirts
- Using a smartphone app to check in volunteers
- Assisting the Volunteer Coordinator in getting volunteers heading where they need to go

Pre-Race Info Team

You must be 18 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

Pre-Race Info Team volunteers will help participants and spectators on race morning find their way to various key locations: check-in, gear check, restrooms, start line, etc. Volunteers in this area should be individuals who are engaging, outgoing ("good morning, everyone, can I help anyone find where they need to go?"), and can help get everyone moving in the right direction before the race begins. These volunteers will be provided with a laminated map and will be spread throughout the race site for maximum coverage and assistance. Volunteers in this area are expected to complete their shift and will not be able to participate in the in-person event.

All volunteers will receive one free entry to a future CRC Signature Series race after the event. Volunteers will receive a Columbus 10K volunteer shirt (while supplies last) and a beverage ticket for use in the Barbasol Finish Line Festival after their shift.

Site Management Team

You must be 16 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

Site Management Team volunteers will help the race staff keep North Bank Park clean by rotating throughout the race site to make sure the grassy spaces stay clear of refuse, emptying trash containers into our larger dumpsters, and making sure we're able to leave the park better than we found it. Volunteers in this area will be provided with nitrile gloves, trash grabbers, and a map of the race site with locations to monitor.

All volunteers in this area will receive TWO free entries to a future CRC Signature Series race after the event. Volunteers will receive a Columbus 10K volunteer shirt (while supplies last) and a beverage ticket for use in the Barbasol Finish Line Festival after their shift.

Floater Team

Details

Floater Team volunteers will be assigned a role on race morning in an area of most need. Sometimes, things happen and folks don't show for their requested duty, so our Floater Team will be there to save the day.

All volunteers will receive one free entry to a future CRC Signature Series race after the event. Volunteers will receive a Columbus 10K volunteer shirt (while supplies last) and a beverage ticket for use in the Barbasol Finish Line Festival after their shift.

Event day teardown volunteer duties may include:
- Making sure all race-related trash is in provided containers
- Breaking down the finish line and vendor areas, moving tables/chairs/etc to proper vehicles/areas as directed by race staff
- Returning North Bank Park to its initial condition

This position may require some lifting up to 40 lbs.
