Bag Drop/Gear Check

Details

Athletes will have a gear drop ticket on their bibs and may choose to leave a drop bag near registration. Volunteers will make sure every bag left at the Bag Drop location has a gear drop ticket attached to the bag.
Volunteers will arrange these bags in three groups; Half, 10k and 5k, then arrange the bags in each group in numerical order. Runners will pick up their bags after they finish their race.
Note: When a runner comes to pick up their bag, make sure the ticket number on the bag matches the runner's bib number.

PARKING

Details

This is the perfect SHORT task for the early riser who also wants to spectate the race and/or volunteer for multiple tasks to earn discounted/free race entries! EASY! Volunteers will stand as assigned parking lot entrances to direct arriving cars into the lot. Once lot is full, volunteer will close gate and move to another assigned location.

Course Sentries

Course Sentries- Section 1

Details

Provide course directions at key intersections. Cheer for racers and provide encouragement. This section is on the Half, 10k and 5k courses.
Note: Course Sentries should remain in place until the Half Marathon DLPF (Designated Last Place Finisher) lets them know the last runner has passed.

Location

These spots are near the race site and along Davidson Street on the first 1.5 miles of the course before entering Shelby Bottoms Park. These spots can be accessed by walking from Nissan Stadium, by bike or by car.

Course Sentries- Section 2

Location

These spots are located between mile 1.5 and mile 3 of the Half/10k/5k course and are a short walk from the parking area near the Riverview Pavilion.

Course Sentries- Section 3

Location

These spots are located between mile 3 and mile 7.5 on the Half marathon course. Spots are a short walk or bike ride from the Forest Green Trailhead parking area or the Cornelia Fort Airpark parking area.

Hydro Station #1- (Troop 157)

Note: This station serves the 5k, 10k and Half marathon runners.

Location

Water station #1 is located at approximately mile 1.5/11.6 on Davidson Street, just before South 14th Street.

Hydro Station #2- (HRC)

Water station #2 is located at mile 2.5/10.6 near the entrance to the greenway in Shelby Park just before the railroad bridge.

Hydro Station #3- (ENTC)

Water station #3 is located at mile 3.5/9.6 after the 10k turnaround at intersection of the Shelby Bottoms Greenway and Fortland Spur Trail.

Breakdown/Clean Up Crew

Details

Assist with clean up of race course and main venue to include; folding soft fencing, breaking down tents, stacking poles, picking up trash and placing equipment near Magic Sports trailers for staff to load. The goal is to beat last year's record for fastest clean up!
