Finish Line Medals High Priority

Details

Volunteers at this assignment will be split into two groups (5K and 10K) and will prepare the medals for distribution by unwrapping and placing them on tables. Volunteers will be distributing medals far away from the finish line to prevent a bottleneck and will help direct runners to the post-race party area for food, race results and awards. Please be sure the entire area is cleaned up before departing.

Location

Exact location will be given when you check in, but you will be in one of the two groups who will be at the finish line for the 5K and the 10K.

Volunteers in this assignment will monitor the bounce houses to ensure that attendees participate in a safe orderly manner. Volunteers will regulate the time the participants spend in the bounce house to allow everyone an opportunity to participate and should feel comfortable enforcing specific bounce house rules (that will be given when you check in for your assignment). Additionally, volunteers should be able to stand for long periods of time.

Volunteers in this position will fill in volunteer gaps at the direction of the Volunteer Coordinator. They can be assigned to a wide variety of positions that will be assigned to them on the day of the event when they check in. Volunteers who sign up for this assignment should be flexible in their assignment expectations and have the ability to stand, sit, lift items up to 10 lbs., converse with people, and follow direction.

Race Day Registration & Packet Pick Up & Race Results High Priority

Details

Volunteers are needed to assist runners and teams who have not yet picked up their packets OR have not registered yet. You will be signing people up to participate, assigning race bibs, distributing shirts, organizing giveaway items (as needed), and other duties as assigned. You will be the first group people will interact with on race day, which means part of this assignment is hyping people up and bringing joy to the event. Volunteers will need to be able to stand, sit, be able to do lifting up to 10 lbs., have a cell phone, have a positive demeanor, and be able to follow the instruction of the person in charge of Registration.

After Registration is complete, volunteers will assist with getting race results displayed and available for the runners of both courses.

As a Volunteer in the Volunteer Booth, you will assist the Volunteer Coordinator by helping check people in, helping sign up volunteers, passing out t-shirts to volunteers, assisting volunteers get to their assignments, help confirm that volunteers understand their assignments, and helping the VC with special assignments that may arise. This position requires strong people skills, some standing, some lifting, some sitting, some walking, and the ability to be flexible.

A perfect volunteer opportunity for a large group of people, volunteers will assist with preparing water cups for the 5K runners at their first water stop! You will be passing out water and cheering the runners along the route. When finished, please be sure the entire area is cleaned up before departing.

We are also excited to announce that this year we are going to be holding a contest for the Best Decorated/Themed Water Stop! In an effort to bring more excitement to the racecourse, we are that groups make their water stop their own! There will be a prize!

Direct runners to the post-race party area for food, race results and awards. Volunteers will also assist in unwrapping medals if necessary. Please be sure the entire area is clean before departing.

Water should be removed from the pallets and pallets should be dismantled only on an as needed basis. This keeps the area cleaner, safer, and easier to clear the road after the event. Please note that you should not break apart all pallets of water at one time! Only open what you need when needed.
