Event Set-Up High Priority

Details

Set up for the event. Place tables, chairs in vendor village. Set up raffle, awards, registration, volunteer, and hospitality tables. Set up water stations on the course.

Pre-Registered Runner Check In & Race Marshall High Priority

You must be 18 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

Assists with Event Set-Up. Checks-in pre-registered runners and passes out Race Bag/Packet not picked up the day prior. Moves to Course Marshall Location A just prior to start of race and directs runners to turn left from parking lot to wooded cut through trail.
Times:
- Arrive at 7:00am to help with Event Set-Up
- Work Pre-Registered Runner Check-In table from 7:45-8:50
- Work as Course Marshall at Location A from 8:50-9:30 (or until last starting runner passes).

Race Day Runner Registration High Priority

Details

Assists with Event Set-Up. Directs interested runners that did not pre-register to the bit.ly/StrideforWellness site to register, or works with runner sign-up. Then checks runner in for race, and gives runner a Race Bag/Packet. Moves to Course Marshall Location B just prior to race start and directs runners to turn right when exiting the wooded cut through trail.
Times:
- Arrive at 7:00am to help with Event Set-Up
- Work Pre-Registered Runner Check-In table from 7:45-8:50
- Work as Course Marshall at Location B from 8:50-9:30 (or until last starting runner passes).

Race Marshall Medium Priority

You must be 16 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

Will be assigned a designated area on the course and will actively point the course direction to all runners approaching well before they arrive.
- Location A: Directs runners to turn left from the parking area into the wooded trail. (Volunteer that works Pre-Registered Runner Check-In)
- Location B: Directs runners to turn right from the wooded trail onto Carters Grove Country Road Trail. (Volunteer that works Race Day Runner Registration).
- Location C: Directs 10K runners to continue straight. Directs 5K runners to turn around. Marks off each 5K and 10K runner that passes/turns around. Notifies staff when the last 5K runner turns around.
- Location D: Directs 10K runners to turn around. Marks off each 10K runner that turns around. Notifies staff when the last 10K runner turns around.
Transportation To Location C & D:
- Carter’s Grove Race Course Trail Access Points:
o Location C: Southall Rec Center (101 Southall Rd). Access trail is across the street from the parking lot.
o Location D: Wareham’s Pond Rec Center (175 Wareham’s Pond Road). Access trail is in the parking lot to the left of the building.
- 3 options to get to the trail access point:
o Drive your personal vehicle to the designated rec center parking.
o Carpool with other Water Station/Course Marshall volunteers to the rec center parking lot.
o Get a ride from the Vehicle Transportation volunteer to the rec center parking lot.
- From there:
o Either walk or ride with other Water Station/Course Marshall volunteers on the golf cart through the access trail.
o Then walk from the trailhead to your designated turn around point.
Transportation From Location C & D:
- Walk back to the trailhead and either walk back to the rec center parking lot or ride with other volunteers on the golf cart.
- If you drove yourself come back to the volunteer tent to check out.
- If you carpooled you may need to ride along to pick up the volunteer returning the golf cart.
- Call or text the Vehicle Transportation volunteer to come pick you up.

Water Station Attendant High Priority

You must be 14 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

Distribute water to runners.
- Volunteer(s) will ride to assigned rec center with table (if not already on location), water and golf cart key. A golf cart will be provided at the rec center to use to transport water, etc. down a nearby wooded trail to the race course. Set up will be at the trailhead. Once the last runner for the 10K on the return leg has passed your location use the golf cart to go up the course some distance and pick up trash and any signage. Drop off the supplies in the rec center parking lot and drive the golf cart to the Kingsmill Eagles Clubhouse at 1010 Kingsmill Rd. Drop off the golf cart with the Kingsmill staff, you will see the drop off area to the right of the Clubhouse. Not all volunteers need to ride to drop off the golf cart if they do not wish. If you carpooled to your location have the driver pick you up at the Clubhouse, or you can call/text the Vehicle Transportation volunteer to come pick you up.

Help with Event Set-Up. Meet volunteers, have them sign in, give out assigned tasks and directions to area to work. Be stationed at our vendor table and distribute information about the Center as well as swag. Help with Event Break Down.

Event Break Down High Priority

Details

Break down tables, chairs, pack up unused food and other items, dispose of trash, assist with driving golf carts back to Kingsmill, etc.

Event Announcements & Music Medium Priority

You must be 18 or older to volunteer for this task.

With a provided sound system make various announcements for the event as well as make sure music is being played.
