VOLUNTEER WITH US!
Walk the Walk for Mental Health — 20 Years of Impact
Be part of a powerful milestone. Our 20th Annual Walk the Walk for Mental Health brings together hundreds of community members to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and support access to life-changing mental health services—and volunteers make it all possible.
From event set-up and registration to cheering on walkers and supporting activities along the route, volunteers help create a safe, uplifting, and memorable experience for everyone involved. Whether you’re volunteering solo, with friends, or as part of a group, your time and energy directly support individuals and families in our community who rely on mental health care.
Join us in celebrating 20 years of impact and help us walk toward hope, connection, and healing—one step at a time.
Volunteer today and make a difference on walk day.
- Intersection Guards: Volunteers will be stationed at a smaller intersection along The Walk route where they will cheer and guide the participants safely. When volunteers see participants starting to approach, look for cars and safely ask them to pause to let the group pass by. If the approaching car is impatient, or not willing to pause, guide the participants to break until the car is gone and it is safe to proceed.
- Powder Station: Volunteer will carry buckets of chalk to the Powder Station table. Using rubber gloves, volunteer will pour small amounts of powder in a squeeze bottle and set them out on the table for participants to pick up. Participants can pick up multiple colors if they wish. Volunteer will instruct them to keep their bottles and powder until the countdown to start the walk where we will all throw the powder together! Keep filling up squeeze bottles as participants take them from the table. At 9:15am, once the participants have started the walk, please take the buckets, gloves, squeeze bottles, and powder back to the front patio for drop off. Leave the table for the cleanup crew to wipe it down.
- Coffee Station: Volunteer will be given Dunkin Coffee Boxes, cups, sugar, & creamers. Volunteer will set up a station located right inside the Village parking Lot. Pass out coffee to participants before the walk begins and when they get back! After the coffee has run out, please wipe down your table and bring the extra supplies back to the front desk.
- Kid Zone: Bring the fun and make a difference in our Kid Zone at the Walk the Walk for Mental Health! Kid Zone volunteers help create a joyful, welcoming space where children can play and create! From leading games and drawing with sidewalk chalk to face painting and handing out balloons, you’ll help turn smiles into memories!
