🏁 Race
BIBS & TIMING CHIPS ⏱️
-
All racers will receive a bib with a timing chip embedded.
-
Attach the bib to the front of your shirt or shorts. The chip may not register your split or finish time if placed elsewhere.
-
At the boat/bike exchange, remove your PFD (personal flotation device) before crossing the timing mat 🛶.
-
Volunteers will guide racers across timing mats at each exchange. All racers must cross the mat to have their time recorded.
-
Relay teams: Members must wait in the transition area for their teammate to finish. Please do not stand near the timing mat.
SPECTATOR AREAS 👀
-
Spectators can view the paddling segment at Langlade Motel (river-side lawn, Hwy 64/55 intersection).
-
Do not view the race from the Hwy 64 bridge.
-
Spectators, please approach the course cautiously ⚠️ and yield to racers and volunteers.
🚻 Comfort Stations & Aid
-
Locations: Aid stations and port-potties are located at both transition areas and the finish line 💧.
-
Boat-to-Bike Transition: Use the DNR-provided pit toilets.
-
Bike-to-Run Transition: A row of port-potties is available approximately 0.1 miles from the start of the run.
🚴♂️ TRAIL RULES & PASSING ETIQUETTE
-
Road Crossings: Follow all caution signs. Stay in control and respect other racers.
-
Overtaking: Loudly announce your intentions (e.g., "Passing on your left!") and pass only where safe.
-
Being Overtaken: Move safely to the edge of the trail to allow faster riders or runners to pass.
-
Biking Control: "Read the trail ahead" to avoid sudden braking. Dismount if necessary and always yield to oncoming trail traffic.
-
Transition Chute: Enter the transition chute under control. Volunteers will take your bike to storage—please thank them!
⛑️ SAFETY & MEDICAL SUPPORT
-
Course Monitors: The Wisconsin Bike Patrol will monitor the bike and run trails. Certified Rescue Boaters will monitor the river rapids.
-
Emergency Services: The Wolf River Volunteer Fire Department 🔥 will be stationed at the finish line. Please thank these dedicated volunteers for their service!
-
Allergy Alert: Bees and hornets are highly active this time of year 🐝. If you are allergic, you must carry your EpiPen with you throughout the entire race.
-
Did Not Finish (DNF): If you cannot complete the race ⚠️, you must notify a volunteer or race official with your name and bib number so we know you are safe and accounted for.
CUT-OFF TIMES ⏳
-
Racers must reach the BOAT/BIKE exchange by 12:00 PM and the BIKE/RUN exchange by 1:00 PM, or they will be disqualified ⚠️.
-
These cut-offs help respect the time and effort of our many volunteers.
