A Sprint Distance Duathlon consists of three events, one after the other.
Run: 2.2km (1.36 miles)
Bike: 20km (12.4 miles)
Run: 5km (3.1 miles)
The event will start at 7:40 AM
You will run one loop around the lake, going clockwise. This is a 1.36 mile loop. Map can be found HERE!
You will enter the transition area the same way the triathletes do. This entrance will be two way traffic. Runners/swimmers going in, cyclists going out. Cyclists will not mount their bikes until exiting the transition area.
The bike course will go from Lake Elmo, to Wicks. After following Wicks, the road will lead you down to Alkali Creek Rd where you will turn left. You will ride about 2 miles until the turnaround. Ride all the back up Alkali Creek until you are directed onto the bike path going through the tunnels and up to the top of the Rims. Map can be found HERE!
DISMOUNT from your bike before entering the transition zone. You must walk/run over the timing mats. After racking your bike, you will exit over the same timing mats you came in on, but will turn left onto the bike path
You will run the out-and-back 5k course. Map can be found HERE!
