SERIES SCORING & AWARDS

2025 Wisconsin Triathlon Series: Scoring & Awards

The Wisconsin Triathlon Series features scoring and awards for both age group and overall series winners.

Series Scoring

  • Series scoring is based on your five best times out of the seven races.

  • At each race, the overall winners (male and female) are assigned 1,000 points.

  • All other athletes’ points are calculated using this formula:

Points = Winning Time / Your Time × 1,000

Example:

  • Will B. Goodbiker wins Lake Mills in 60 minutes → 1,000 points

  • Bob A. Fastrunner finishes in 61 minutes → (60 / 61) × 1,000 = 983.6 points

We’ll tally points from your best five races, and the athlete with the most overall points (male and female) will be the series champion.

The overall series scoring will use the same divisions as in our individual races:

Overall Awards

  • 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place will be awarded to both men and women at each individual event and in the overall series.

Age Group Awards

  • 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place will be awarded in each age group, for both men and women, at each individual event and in the overall series.

  • Age Groups: 19 & Under, 20–24, 25–29, 30–34, 35–39, 40–44, 45–49, 50–54, 55–59, 60–64, 65–69, 70–74, 75–79, 80 & Above

Special Award Categories

  • Clydesdale Category: Men over 220 lbs. (1st, 2nd, 3rd) at each individual event and in the overall series.

  • Athena Category: Women over 165 lbs. (1st, 2nd, 3rd) at each individual event and in the overall series.

  • High School Category: Men and women (1st, 2nd, 3rd) at each individual event and in the overall series.

  • Non-Binary Category: (1st, 2nd, 3rd) — Those racing in the Non-Binary division are not eligible for age group awards at each individual event or in the overall series.

The overall series winners (male and female) will receive an award.

Novice Category

Please not, a Novice category is available to help newcomers to the sport. However, novice participants are automatically placed in their age group for points and awards. There is no separate novice awards category. We recommend entering the novice category three times or fewer.
