Race Information and Rules

START & SWIM
Sound of horn will start race, Men’s sprint starts at 8:00, Woman’s at 8:03. Olympic Men’s at 8:10 then Woman’s at 8:13.
Start (in water); keep Buoys to your right, swim Clock-Wise around your designated turn around Buoy
Sprint swimmers turn at the first Orange and Olympic turns at the second Orange Buoy 
Exit at the Launch Ramp where the helpers are, then right following signs to T-1 stay on grass as directed to run onto sidewalk.

T-1 & BIKE
Keep your T-1 area neat as other athletes will need to run through this area also.
No riding bikes in transition area.
Helmet must be worn and buckled before removing bike from racks, and until bike is re-racked after ride!
Mounting and dismounting bicycle must be done outside fence line.
Bike on right side of the road; look for Arrows and Cones for direction.
Remember, “Share the Road” as all roads will also be open to automobiles.
Once you are on Orwood Rd the Sprint will turn left off Orwood  Rd. onto Byron Hwy, Olympic will turn right at same intersection and continue on route till directed to turn around.
There will be a 50-yard (No Passing Area) just prior to these turns for safety reasons. (Look for Signs).
Passing another athlete on bike must be done on left, then move back to the right. We have giant arrows and 45 volunteers throughout the ride.

RELAY TEAMS
Bike Rider must wait in Transition area until swimmer tags him or her then can proceed to grab bike off rack. 
Helmet must be buckled before removing bike from rack, (Do not mount bike till out of fenced area).
Upon return to transition proceed to tag area where Runner must wait for Rider to tag before starting to run.
OK to bypass Tag Box if doing back to back disciplines

T-2 & RUN
Exiting T-2 Runners will immediately descend stairs (You must Walk – No Running on stairs)
Follow directional cones and run on left side of trail, there will be a right hand turn-around sign for both 5K and 10K.
The 5K will turn around at the 5K sign, the 10K will turn around at the 10K sign.
Water and heed will be available at bottom of stairs exiting T-2.
There will also be hydration before the Sprint and Olympic turn around area.
This will give 5K runners three opportunities and 10K runners five opportunities to hydrate.
