Description

Join the Epilepsy Foundation of San Diego for the 2026 Sharon's Ride.Run.Walk., a movement that brings our community together to educate, spread awareness, and make a difference for the people we love who live with epilepsy.

This event is dedicated to the memory of Sharon Rosenfeld, a nurse and teacher who cared deeply about epilepsy and advocated helmet safety. Click here to learn more about Sharon and helmet safety.

After you cross the finish line, there will be a community picnic with live music, food trucks, lawn games, and more. We encourage families to bring their own blankets, beach chairs, and umbrellas.

Sharon's Ride.Run.Walk. San Diego is a 15-mile Bike Ride or 5K Run/Walk, but it’s more than that.

It matters because

  • 1 in 10 will have a seizure in their lifetime
  • 1 in 26 will be diagnosed with epilepsy
  • 50,000 San Diegans live with epilepsy
  • 3.4 million individuals nationwide are affected by epilepsy

Epilepsy is more than seizures. Every story matters in this fight. Follow us on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn to meet our San Diego community affected by epilepsy and read personal stories of why this matters.

Schedule of events

  • 8:00am: Registration opens and packet pick-up
  • 9:15am: 15-mile Bike Ride start
  • 10:00am: 5K Run/Walk start
  • 11:00am to 1:00pm: Community picnic

Registration and fundraising

Funds raised from Sharon's Ride.Run.Walk. provide education and awareness, training programs on seizure recognition and first aid, as well as access to specialty and supportive care for the nearly 50,000 people affected by epilepsy here in San Diego.

People with epilepsy need our support more than ever. 80% of your registration fee is used for our no-cost programs and services to anyone affected by epilepsy.

  • Register as an individual, join a team, or create your own team.
    • With your registration, you will receive a FREE commemorative San Diego Sharon's Ride.Run.Walk. T-shirt. (T-shirt sizes must be placed by April 15 to guarantee your size. After April 15, t-shirts will be available on a first come, first served basis until we run out.)
  • Discount pricing for kids ages 6 to 12. Ages 0 to 5 are FREE to register and have the option to add a t-shirt for $10. Age-based prices adjusted at checkout.
  • Everyone who registers will become a fundraiser and be able to create their own personal fundraising page. Share your personal story and encourage your friends, family members, and co-workers to support you and donate to your page.
There will be exciting incentives, challenges, and prizes for individual fundraisers.
  • Your supporters will donate directly to your individual fundraising page, not your team page. Your team page will reflect the cumulative amount of individual fundraising from team members. Teams raising $500 or more by April 15 will be given a professionally printed team sign. Top ten largest teams who have raised $2,500 or more by April 15 will be provided a tent.
  • We encourage everyone to bring your own personalized team signs and swag for the celebration.
  • Take photos during your ride, run, or walk and share them with us. Use #EpilepsySD and #SharonsRide and tag @epilepsysd on Instagram and Facebook.
