Event Description
Folks, it's time!! It's time for an ultra trail race in the Fayetteville area and we are pleased to announce that the team that brought you The DeerFly Trail Race will now have a 25k and 50k at Carver's Creek State Park! Are you hardy, persistent and stubborn enough to take on parts of the state park that aren't open to the public? If so, then this is the race for you! During this event you'll get to run some of the already known trails and then get adventurous on some special trails that you've not experienced before! This will be an old school, runner oriented race that will surely be a part of your 2026 race schedule! We have designed a fabulous course that will take you to places that you didn't know existed and we are super excited for everyone to experience Carver's Creek like never before! During the event you'll pass by several lakes and ponds as you enjoy some really runnable technical trail. There are no out and backs or two way traffic. Folks, this is a true 16 mile loop! You will run two laps for the 50k and there will be a hard cutoff to start the second loop. 50k runners have 9hrs to finish. Want to take your time or put on a ruck? You'll have the entire time to complete the 25k. Only Cani-Cross dogs allowed. No children under 14 years of age for this event. All entrants will receive a race shirt and event finishers will get an awesome medal!

Packet pick up is only available on race day at the start location (6:30-7:45 AM).
There will be two unmanned aid stations on the course. Water only at about mile 5 and water and light snacks at about mile 11.
The start and finish line will have a full aid station with hydration and fuel.
Yes. All participants need to be completed by 9hrs from the start time. 50k participants must start their second loop no later than 12:15 PM.
After you have started the event and are out on the course, the only accessible places to drop will be the unmanned water points at mile 5.5/11.5/21.5/27.5. Please contact your RDs at 740-646-0727 to request a pickup. Please note it may take an extended period of time for a volunteer to pick you up if there is not an emergency. All emergencies will be treated as such.
There are portapotties and bathrooms at the start. There are no bathrooms on course.
Only pre-approved Canicross participants will be permitted to have a dog on the course. Canicross participants are REQUIRED to obtain approval from the Race Directors prior to race day. Dogs must be registered with North American Canicross and have a minimum of 50 race miles logged. Evidence must be provided to the Race Directors to receive approval. Runners without pre-approval and/or who do not meet these experience requirements will not be permitted to race with their dogs. There is plenty of free parking at the start and finish area. Runners will be permitted to arrive to the park NO EARLIER THAN 6AM. Please follow the parking directives provided by the Park Rangers.
Yes, but make sure to keep one ear open. Listen for other runners and always have good trail etiquette.
