Race Day Requirements:

This will be a CUPLESS race. Runners are REQUIRED to carry a hydration source during the event such as a handheld, vest with bottles/bladder, or something similar. We know some of you think that you can run without hydration, and maybe you can, just not at this event. There will be two unmanned water points on the course where you can refill as needed and a fully stocked aid station in the admin area for those fueling up for their second loop. Similarly, Canicross runners will also be REQUIRED to have means of providing water to their dogs.
Good attitude and energy are a MUST! Anyone being disrespectful to our lovely Park Rangers, volunteers, fellow participants or the trail will be disqualified and asked to leave. Please leave no trace and take only memories and selfies from our beautiful State Park! If you hate trail running and volunteers as much as you do your ex, this is not the event for you.
Canicross participants are REQUIRED to obtain approval from the Race Directors prior to race day. Dogs must be registered with North American Canicross and have a minimum of 50 race miles logged. Evidence must be provided to the Race Directors to receive approval. Runners without pre-approval and/or who do not meet these experience requirements will not be permitted to race with their dogs. Please message your RDs at runstubborn@gmail.com or through our social media pages to obtain authorization. We really look forward to petting your dog!!
DROPS: If you are unable to finish the race because you stayed up too late, forgot to train, your liver hurts or you thought this was a road race, it's ok. We've all been there. If ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY you can drop only at the water point locations (mile 5.5 or 11.5). Please notify the RDs that you need to DNF by calling us at 740-646-0727 so that we can talk you out of it. Just kidding, we will come get you eventually.
