Since 2010, the Rochester Triathlon (aka The ROC) is a late summer classic organized by the Rochester Area Triathletes (aka RATs) and held at Durand-Eastman Beach in Irondequoit, NY on the 4th Saturday in August. The ROC features a shallow open-water swim, closed-to-traffic, super-fast, bike course, and a picturesque run along Lake Ontario and Seabreeze shorelines to the roaring crowds lining the pathway.
The ROC is a USAT-sanctioned event offering qualifying slots for the National Championship for all Sprint and Intermediate distances and formats: Age-Group, Athena, Clydesdale, High School, Paratriathlon, Aquabike, Duathlon, Clubs. (sorry - no relays)
By popular demand, the Duathlon and Aquabike will return for 2024 plus the now famous Open Division heat for highly competitive triathletes wanting a shotgun start, head-to-head battle to the finish line with the podium winners receiving the Overall awards.
Note: As the previous host of the 2023 NY State Championships, we have submitted our bid to host again in 2024 with the decision made by USAT in October. Fingers crossed, stay tuned!
