FAQs

Q: How does "Register Now, Pay Later" Work? -- Only for registrations prior to July 1, 2021.
A: For those that register BEFORE July 1st -- you card will not be charged until August 1, 2021.  For those registering on July 1, 2021 or later, you will be charged the full registration

Q: Does that mean I can change my mind on doing the race and not be charged? -- Only for registrations prior to July 2, 2021
A: Not necessarily.  If you chose that you no longer would like to do the event AND the event is cancelled prior to August 1, 2021, your card will not be charged.  If the event is not cancelled, your card will be charged on August 1, 2021.  If you decide you do not want to do the race anymore, you will have an option to take a deferral to one our 2022 Events for no additional fee.  However, you card will still be charged.  All deferrals must be requested to info@myutopian.com by August 15, 2021.  No refunds will be given.

Q: Is this a USAT Sanctioned Event?
A: Yes. We also have a USAT Certified Race Director.

Q: Can I use headphones on the course?

A: No. We will follow all USAT guidelines for safety.

Q: I'm new to triathlon, how do I ensure I am prepared for the race?

A: We highly suggest signing up for our mentorship program and following our page on Facebook.

Q: Can we bring our Dog to the Race?
A: YES! Friendly dogs are welcome but must be leashed and cannot participate in the race.

Q: Will I be able to swim the course prior to the race?
A: You can swim in the lake during the Summer but the course itself will not be available until the morning of the race. Testing the water is strongly encouraged especially for beginner triathletes. An open water swim is not the same as swimming the pool.

Q: What happens if I am not 100% comfortable to do the Swim the day of the race?
A: No problem. You can still complete the bike and the run. Please just let a race official or staff member know and we can update your timing ID.

Q: Can I camp at Gifford Pinchot State Park?
A: Yes! There are cabins and campsites available for rent. See our lodging page.

Q: Will we be able to ride the bike course prior to the race?
A: Yes. But it will be open with no protection from signage, fire or police. Please ensure you ride safe. Our plan is to have several organized group rides prior to the race.

Q: Will there be Award Categories for Clydesdale and Athena?
A: Yes. But only for the Triathlon event.

Q: Who is this awesome dog at the bottom of this page?
A: That's Pinda!  His race is being postponed until 2022 to make room for the 17th & 18th Annual Got the Nerve Triathlon.
