Sodalis Scurry 5k/10k Course
The 5K and 10K races begin at 4:30 PM from the shelter house at Echo Hollow Nature Park. Racers will start on the park’s newly constructed boardwalk, then continue onto a scenic mix of dirt, gravel, and grassy trails that wind through the woods. 5K participants will complete one full loop of the course, while 10K runners will take on a second lap to complete their distance. Along the way, keep an eye out for the park’s resident wildlife—deer, turtles, frogs, snakes, and perhaps even a bat or two flying overhead as dusk settles in. It’s a quiet, natural setting that makes for an ideal fall trail race with just a hint of Halloween atmosphere. We offer bonus points for costumed racers!
Kids 1K Fun Walk/Run
The Kids 1K Fun Walk/Run will begin at 4:00 PM at the park’s shelter. Young runners will set off on a fun 1K course through the park, enjoying the sights, sounds, and excitement of the trails along the way. This event is a great way for kids to get active, have fun, and celebrate fall with friends and family. Costumes are encouraged—and kids in costume earn bonus points for style and spirit! Whether they're racing to the finish or taking their time to enjoy the course, everyone is sure to have a spooktacular time.
Parents are encouraged to walk or run with their children. The kids 1K will not be timed.
