Parking volunteers will assist drivers on where to park at the event.

Body Marking High Priority

Details

Body marking staff will write the participants bib number clearly and legibly on the both of the participant’s arms, as well as the participant's age on the back of the left calf before participants enter the transition area.

Timing Chip High Priority

Details

After participants check-in, they will receive a timing chip from the volunteers at this station. Volunteers will hand out timing chips that correspond to the athlete’s bib number.

Transition Captain - Downtown High Priority

The transition Captain is in charge of monitoring and coordinating this area. All transition volunteers will report to the captain.

Transition - Downtown High Priority

Details

Transition volunteers will make sure the transition area (bike to run) stays clear of spectators, that all participants inside the transition area are properly body marked, that participants know where and how to rack their bikes, and assisting with ensuring the area around the bikes is clear and easy for racers to navigate.

Assist the Volunteer Coordinator with volunteer check in throughout the morning. Might be tasked with bringing volunteer(s) to their respective spot along the course. Needs to have an understanding of race map and all areas where volunteers are to be positioned.

Swim Course - On Water High Priority

You must be 18 or older to volunteer for this task.

Swim Course Marshalls will be in kayaks, paddle boards, or jet skis on the water to monitor swimmer safety and alert lifeguard if needed. *Must provide own kayak, paddle board, etc.

Swim Course - On Land High Priority

You must be 14 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

Swim Course Marshalls will be stationed where swimmers enter and exit the water to direct athletes in right direction and alert them of any slippery areas. If willing, they will go knee-deep into the water to help athletes get out of the water safely. They will also take count of number of athletes and enter and exit the water, helping to ensure that all racers are accounted for at the conclusion of the swim portion.

Certified Lifeguard High Priority

You must be 18 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

Lifeguards will be in place to ensure swimmers’ safety. They are to rescue any swimmers that are in need of assistance. Lifeguards are to alert medical officers should the need arise.

Aid Station Captain High Priority

You must be 18 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

Aid Station Captain will ensure that all aid stations are properly staffed, have the necessary supplies, and maintain that the supplies are replenished as needed. The Captain will also ensure that all aid stations are cleaned up and packed up at the conclusion of the race.

Aid Station High Priority

Details

Volunteers will fill cups prior to the start of the race. They need to ensure there is always enough water and sport drinks are readily available at each station for participants as they pass. Volunteers will hand out drinks in a safe and professional manner to minimize the disruption of the racers. Volunteers also need to make sure the area by aid station is free of disposed cups, bottles, etc.

Bike Course Marshall High Priority

Details

Bike Course Marshalls will ensure safety of participants along the course. Volunteers will cheer on athletes while making sure the course stays clear of spectators and other obstructions. Some Land Course Marshalls will be stationed at corners and turns to direct athletes in proper direction.

Finish Line High Priority

July 18, 2020

Details

Volunteers will cheer and support participants as they approach the finish line. They will also help distribute medals to finishers, collect their timing chips and provide them with a water bottle.

Food Tent Captain High Priority

You must be 18 or older to volunteer for this task.

Food Captain oversees that the food is properly displayed and replenished and that the food tent is properly staffed.

Volunteers will set up food tent and ensure there is always enough food available.

Transition Bag Transport High Priority

You must be 18 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

These volunteers will pack up the transition bags left behind at T1 (Lake) and transport them back to T2 (downtown) where racers will retrieve them at the conclusion of the race. Bags are numbered and will need to be put in order once returned to T2 so it is easy for the racer to locate their bag. A vehicle such as a truck or SUV is likely needed to transport the bags.

Run Lead High Priority

You must be 18 or older to volunteer for this task.

Volunteer will be on a bike to lead the first runner along the run course. Volunteer must be able to bring their own bike to the race.

Run Course Marshall High Priority

Details

Run Course Marshalls are to ensure safety of participants along the course. Volunteers are to cheer on athletes while making sure the course stays clear of spectators and other obstructions. Some Land Course Marshalls will be stationed at corners and turns to direct athletes in proper direction.

Sweeper High Priority

You must be 18 or older to volunteer for this task.

The Sweeper will follow both the trail cyclist and trial runner on the course. Needs to provide own bike.

Awards High Priority

Details

Volunteers assist with award presentation at the conclusion of the race. They will assist with gathering winners to the podium and handing out awards to age group and race winners.

Clean Up Crew High Priority

July 18, 2020

Details

Crew will take down equipment used during the race. This can include, bike racks, fencing, tents, course markers, etc.
