GENERAL FAQ

Can I change my race distance?

Yes – please do so ASAP! Send an email to racedirector@ymcatvidaho.org, or tell a staff member at packet pickup that you’d like to change.

If you decide to change distances mid race, please find a race official as soon as you finish and tell them which distance you changed to & share your bib # so we can update your profile in our system. This helps us know who is on the course and when we have all the runners in.

What if I want to change distances mid race?

If you decide to change distances mid race, it’s okay. Please tell a race official at the registration/results tent as soon as you finish. Share your bib number and what distance you will finish so we can update your profile in our system. This helps us know who is on the course and when we have all the runners in.

Where is the timing chip?

Your timing chip is on the back of your bib. Do not bend your bib/timing chip. Everyone is timed. Results will be available after the race for you to check if you'd like.  Your bib MUST be on the front of your body!

What time does each race start?

Marathon - 7am

Half Marathon - 8am

10K  - 10am

5K - 10:15am

Is there a gear check?

A Gear Check tent will be available after 6:00am near the finish line. Please clearly mark your name and bib number on your bag. You are responsible to provide a bag for items you choose to leave behind.

Do not check anything valuable in the gear check. A volunteer will be assigned to keep an eye on the area, but The YMCA is not responsible for lost, stolen gear or broken gear. Your best bet is to keep your things in your vehicle while you run.

Where are the Water/Aid Stations & bathrooms on the course?

These will be located along the full marathon course every ~1.5 miles. Bathrooms are located at every other Aid station, and at the start and finish areas.

5k -2 aid stations

10k -  3 aid stations

Half - 8 aid stations

Full - 16 Aid Stations

Nutrition Products provided by Honey Stinger & Tailwind. Each Station will have an assortment of Gels. If there is something that works best for you we recommend you bring it yourself and carry it with you.

Is the course well marked?

Yes, you can pick up a map to review the course or find a digital copy on our website on the Course Maps page HERE. Make sure to follow the course signs and not the runners in front of you - there are 4 courses and lots of people. There are arrows & cones posted along the course, chalk in some spots as well as A-frame signs. Please ask for help at aid stations or other volunteers along the course. It is your responsibility to understand the course.

Are dogs welcome?

NO! Unfortunately because of our connection with Boise State and for the safety of everyone, we ask to not have dogs as a part of this event. Exceptions are only made for documented service animals.

Is there food & recovery available?

All participants will have access to the Idaho Baked Potato Bar at the finish line with all the fix’ns to dress up your potato, along with a few other food and beverage trucks.

Who gets a medal?

All finishers get a medal!

Where do I find the results?

Results will be available by scanning QR codes located at the Registration tent, on your bib, and scattered around the venue. Otherwise, you can click HERE after you finish and search by your name or bib number. Please allow at least 5-10 minutes for results to update.

Where do I pick up my award?

Awards will be available at the Announcer’s tent in the Finish Line celebration area. We start announcing as soon as results are available. We do age groups awards and overall awards. We encourage everyone to stay for the music and more at the finish line celebration. If you leave before you receive your award we will contact you or feel free to email us at racedirector@ymcatvidaho.org

PACKET PICK UP & RACE DAY FAQ

Where is packet pickup held?

Packet pickup will be held FRIDAY May 15th from 3-7pm at The Morrison Center on Boise State University campus. The address is 2201 W Cesar Chavez Ln. You can park in the Brady Street Parking garage (2204 W University Dr, Boise, ID 83706). The morning of the race, packet pickup will also be held at the Morrison Center at the Registration/Check-In tent - there will be signs and flags out for you to find it.

Can I check in & pick up bibs for a friend, too? Do I need my ID?

Yes you can – we just need first and last names. Please let the staff member or volunteer know when you arrive at a computer that you’re picking up for more than one family. No ID needed.

Where do we park on race day?

You will receive a colored parking pass at packet pickup to designate which garage you’re in:

All Half and Full Marathon runners will park in the Brady parking garage on Boise State University campus (2204 W University Dr, Boise, ID 83706).

5K and 10K runners will park in the Lincoln garage on BSU campus (1621 W University Dr, Boise, ID 83706).

If you are unable to attend packet pickup on Friday, a digital parking pass will be emailed to you Friday evening.

Where are the start and finish lines?

Both are near The Morrison Center (2201 W Cesar Chavez Ln, Boise, ID 83725). The Starting Line will be located on the SE side of the Morrison Center, on S Brady Street. The Finish Line will be on the NW side, on S Earle Street.

What time should I arrive for my race?

Half and Full Marathons start at 7am, and 5K/10K starts at 10am. We highly suggest arriving at least 45 minutes prior to the start of your race to allow time for parking, walking to the starting line, checking gear, etc.

Where do I get my shirt? Can I change sizes?

T-shirts can be picked up at Packet Pickup, either on Friday or on Saturday morning. A volunteer will write the shirt size you designated at registration on the back of your bib, then you will take your bib number over to the t-shirt table. You must have a bib number to pick up a shirt.

If you'd like to change your shirt size, you can email us at racedirector@ymcatvidaho.org before May 1 and we can make that change.

***There are NO exchanges during Packet Pickup or until after the race - you can take your shirt to the Registration tent at the end of the race to see if your preferred shirt size is still available.***

Late or Day-of registrations are not guaranteed a shirt - it is based on availability. In some instances, we may reorder more shirts and will email participants when they arrive, but this is based on demand.
