The Wellmark YMCA's 35th annual Red Flannel Run is Saturday, February 17, 2024 in downtown Des Moines. All proceeds help make healthy living accessible through the YMCA’s financial assistance program. The Red Flannel Run is the longest, consecutively produced race in the Des Moines area with a 5K and 10K option. What began as a couple of guys without dates on Valentine’s Day has grown to a community wide event of do-gooders dressed up in red flannel attire to raise awareness of the Wellmark YMCA and its mission of building community through healthy living, youth development, and social responsibility.
Embrace the cold. Run the race. Support the cause.
