The 2021 Baltimore Triathlon Festival will feature men’s and women’s sprint-distance championships spread out over 2 days. This exciting format will create a unique and competitive atmosphere that will challenge beginners and seasoned veterans alike. We hope you enjoy this unique racing opportunity!
We were able to host the Baltimore Triathlon in 2020 despite the challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic. A detailed and thoughtful plan combined with the support of the staff of Gunpowder State Park and the Maryland Park Service allowed us to host 300 athletes over two days. We look forward to a return to "traditional" racing, but will incorporate some of last year's format changes into future races to give athletes the best experience possible. Come race with us and see why we're one of Maryland's most popular triathlons!

In the event of inclement weather or other unavoidable circumstances, The Baltimore Triathlon reserves the right to modify or cancel any portion of the race that is deemed unsafe for participants.
To ensure participant safety and minimize impact on the surrounding communities, the Baltimore Triathlon has established course cutoffs for the races in coordination with the Baltimore County Police Department. All cyclists MUST be off of the road by 10:00 AM. This gives sprint participants approximately 2 hours to complete the 750m swim, transition 1, and the 13.8 mile bike course (based on an 8:00 AM start).
Race officials reserve the right to pull any participant from the course who is not making satisfactory progress on the course, or is considered a danger to themselves or others.
COVID-19 Health Security Plan: Creating a safe experience at the 2021 Baltimore Triathlon Festival is our top priority!
Safety of participants, volunteers, sponsors and staff is of utmost importance to Charm City Run. We are committed to following all local, state, national and CDC guidelines at the 2021 Baltimore Triathlon Festival. Charm City Run was fortunate enough to safely hold this event in 2020 and, thus, has developed efficient and effective race day COVID-19 protocols and procedures. While guidelines and health metrics continue to evolve, we are prepared with procedures that may include, but are not limited to: proof of a negative COVID-19 test for out-of-state registrants; caps on participation consistent with outdoor gathering guidelines; contactless packet pickup; mandatory mask wearing for participants, volunteers and staff at all times (with the exception of when actively participating in the race); minimal spectators; social distancing and small group wave starts for participants; sanitizer stations throughout the event space; elimination of bag check and shirt exchanges; sealed grab-and-go water bottles at water stops; individually wrapped post-race snacks.
As the event draws closer, expect clear and continuous communication via email and website updates on the strategies we’ll use to keep everyone safe. Any questions? Please contact us at email@example.com.
For more information on COVID-19, please visit The CDC Website.
As we slowly return to racing in 2021, we want to be completely transparent with our policies regarding refunds, deferrals, and cancellations. If you are interested in signing up for this race please read this section carefully prior to registering. All interested participants will be shown these policies during the registration process and must agree to adhere to them in order to be admitted to the event.
Race registration fees (and the processing charge from RunSignup) are not refundable. These funds are used to pay for race premiums, permits, supplies, staffing, and other costs incurred before, during, and after the event is held. To be consistent and fair to everyone we cannot make exceptions to this policy.
We offer the option for registrants to defer their entry to the following year's event up to two weeks prior to the race (September 18, 2021). After this deadline passes we are unable to allow deferrals as race materials have been received and prepped for the event. Again, to be consistent and fair to everyone we cannot make exceptions to this policy. Registrants may defer their entry by going into their profile on runsignup.com and choosing "Manage Registration" next to the race.
We offer the option for registrants to transfer their entry to another eligible participant up to two weeks prior to the race (September 18, 2021). After this deadline passes we are unable to allow transfers as race materials have been received and prepped for the event. Again, to be consistent and fair to everyone we cannot make exceptions to this policy. Registrants may transfer their entry to another registrant by going into their profile on runsignup.com and choosing "Manage Registration" next to the race.
2020 showed just how unpredictable our world can be, and the running industry was certainly no exception. We know that it's important to have as much information at your disposal when making a decision whether to sign up for a race or not, and we want you to know exactly what your options will be should the 2021 in-person race not be able to take place as originally planned. If we are forced to cancel the in-person race due to COVID-19 all registrants will be able to defer their entry to the 2022 event (you will not receive the 2021 race swag, but will be prompted to claim your entry and register for the 2022 event when registration opens)
Please note that our regular cancellation policy found here applies to other scenarios that could prompt the cancellation of an event including weather, local emergencies, etc. If you have any questions about our cancellation policy please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org PRIOR to registering.
