Scholarship Impact
The James A. Pinaire III Foundation was established in memory of Jaime Pinaire—an educator, athlete, and Chatham High School graduate—whose commitment to education continues through this race.
Proceeds from the Jaime Pinaire 5K Race & Fun Run support the Foundation’s mission to provide scholarship assistance to students with financial need—helping them access educational opportunities and stay enrolled in schools they have worked hard to earn.
What the Foundation Supports
Many students are accepted to outstanding private high schools, boarding schools, and colleges but face financial gaps that scholarships and financial aid do not fully cover. The Foundation helps bridge those gaps so students can pursue life-changing educational opportunities.
Our Scholarship Programs
The Foundation supports students through two distinct scholarship programs:
The James A. Pinaire III Award (Robert Treat Academy – Newark, NJ)
This award provides multi-year gap scholarships that help Robert Treat Academy graduates meet four-year private or boarding high school tuition requirements when scholarships and financial aid do not cover the full cost.
What “gap” support can mean (example): A student may receive financial aid from a private or boarding high school, but still have a remaining balance each year. The James A. Pinaire III Award helps cover a significant portion of that remaining gap, while encouraging families to contribute what they reasonably can as a meaningful investment in their child’s education.
Since its founding, the Foundation has supported dozens of students through scholarship assistance and educational support.
The Jaime Pinaire Award (Chatham High School)
This award provides a one-time college scholarship to Chatham High School graduates with financial need, particularly students pursuing teaching or a math-related major. To date, 10 CHS graduates have received the Jaime Pinaire Award.
The James A. Pinaire III Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
